Johannesburg is the place to go to mix big-city culture, shopping, dining and nightlife with outdoor adventures, up-close wildlife encounters and visits to historical sites. Explore caves and nature reserves, or visit a traditional village by day, then enjoy dinner at a hip cafe or five-star restaurant. And if you're a shopper, bring an extra, empty suitcase. With malls, open-air markets and places that blend the two, you'll find plenty of unique souvenirs.

We are a botique tree-top guest house in Johannesburg situated on the highest point in Melville with views across the Koppies towards Sandton. Pablo House has 8 rooms some with views, others with terraces all en-suite with rain showers, netflix TV’s and super comfy king beds. Our newly added restaurant “Pablo Dos Manos” is open for our guests - serving pizza and other delicious items cooked in our wood burning oven. They newly installed pool is also a treat to cool off on a hot day with a cold beverage which can be brought down to you. Pablo House have 24hour staff on duty to make sure you always have someone to help with whatever you need. Come stay at Pablo House and see what you think!
Pablo House was a bit of a splurge for one night but so worth it. The pictures don’t do it justice. What a gorgeous home - it really feels like a home but run like a hotel. The night manager took such good care of us when we arrived bleary-eyed before the crack of dawn - above and beyond the call of duty. Such a lovely person. All of the staff were so generous and accommodating. We had the duplex - spectacular. I wish we could have stayed longer. Restaurant was excellent and lively. Interesting to chat w people in the cozy lounge area but you could also read or have a drink by yourself. The concierge set us up with a wonderful guide, Kevin. I thought it was just for Soweto (do not miss a visit there) and would not normally book a city tour but he took us around for a full day. We could never have learned what is going on in all the different neighborhoods and how they are changing without him. The back garden with small pool is a lovely oasis but it was too chilly to swim, we’ll have to come back in summer. I can’t imagine staying any place else in Joburg. Melville is also great, one of the few places you can walk around comfortably and not be within a gated mall.

Owned and managed by the owners of Melville's renowned Lucky Bean Restaurant the guesthouse is set on a large, old world style Melville property with a beautiful garden and pool. Rooms are light and spacious with clean lines and a chic and urban contemporary style. Each with its own entrance, most of the rooms offer patio space and garden views. True Johannesburg warmth and also free, fast wi-fi!
Enormous rooms, everything is of very good material, pool is nice, just perfect. Compared to other guesthouses in the same price range, Lucky Bean is on a different level. Absolute must for when you're in Johannesburg.

I am a PhD candidate. I had come to collect data at UJ with six participants. I could not had chosen a better place to spend the night. Sesi Chichi was a star. She accompanied us to a restaurant so that we don't get lost. The rooms are beautiful inside and the peace and tranquility.

Rosebank Lodge Guest House is well situated corporate Guest Lodge, just three blocks from the Rosebank Mall, and two and a half blocks from the new Rosebank Gautrain station, across the road from Coca Cola, Sappi, next to Standard Bank, offering affordable accommodation in this elite area. It is an ideal location for the corporate as well as the leisure traveller. Several rooms overlook a landscaped garden, most with private entrances or garden entrances, which include LCD HDTVs with DSTV decoders, complimentary wifi, crisp percale linen, 5* legacy mattresses - ensuring your comfort whilst you are away from home, amidst the hustle and bustle of the central Rosebank business district. Some rooms feature full bathrooms and luxurious king sized beds as well as a business area for checking on those important email responses etc. Smaller rooms have en suite showers/loo.
The place is quiet and is located close to a Gautrain station and a shopping mall. Getting around was easy. The stay was relaxing, comfortable, and worth a repeat stay. I enjoyed the breakfast on offer.

The Melville Turret is a landmark building in Melville, Johannesburg and was built in 1906 by Erik van den Berg who owned a bicycle shop in downtown Johannesburg. The house is a mix of the old and new, traditional and contemporary. The guest house is very conveniently situated for visitors to Milpark Hospital, Media 24, SABC,Wits University and University of Johannesburg and within walking distance from the famous 7th Street and Bamboo Centre. We pride ourselves in our friendly service and relaxed atmosphere, whilst striving to provide the best service.
We notified them of our late arrival and received an acknowledgement. But when we arrived at 9:30 pm we were locked out. No response to the gate buzzer, phone call, text, or email. We were simply stranded outside on the corner. Had to find other accommodations. Called the next day and were told that they close the desk at 8:00 pm, sorry. Terrible, simply terrible way to run a guest house.

The Parkwood is a relaxed boutique Guest Lodge combining elements of contemporary style with classic comfort. Luxurious, private & secure accommodation in the suburb of Parkwood within walking distance of the underground train station in Rosebank.
I was lucky enough to find The Parkwood and settle in for a long term stay while my husband was at a local hospital. During a very stressful time in my life the owners, Dean & Sarah who live on-site, and their staff welcomed me like family and made me feel cared for and pampered. Playing with their adorable dog Lily was a wonderful daily distraction as was a chance to swim, get a massage or do yoga. The rooms are each unique and wonderfully & stylishly outfitted and the public spaces allow for socializing with other guests, enjoying a glass of wine or eating some of Sarah's amazing food in the dining room or in the privacy of your room. I can't say enough about how much The Parkwood and the people there brought me comfort during my time in South Africa.
