Overlooking the golden sands of Queensland Beach, the Inn is centrally located only 30 minutes from Halifax, Peggy's Cove, and Lunenburg. Built by a sea captain circa 1880, the Inn has been restored keeping the Victorian elegance while providing all of the modern amenities. Our rooms come complete with whirlpool tubs, ocean views, cozy beds, and our healthy breakfast in the morning.
Spent almost 170.00 for a basic room. The room was very dated and smelled very musty. This place does not deserve even a one star rating. There are very few places to stay in the area and the location is excellent as it is close to Queensland beach. The room was very small and for the price one fo the lights in the bathroom was burned out. Really??? Staff could not replace a burned out bulb! The bed as extremely old and way to soft from age. Way to expensive for what you get and for the tiny size of the room. I would not recommend this place nor would I go back. They left us with 1/2 roll of toilet paper with no spare on stand by..........???? Next time, I am in the area, I will drive to Halifax and get a room for much cheaper and way better quality.

Centrally located with shops, restaurants, pharmacy & grocery nearby. Thoughtfully decorated with a down homie feel reminiscent of visits to my aunts’ as a child. Great views from the oceanside rooms. Hosts David & Jenny are very welcoming and helpful.

Magnificent Victorian Home on 7 acres of manicured grounds. Minutes to the Halifax International airport. Executive suites all with wireless internet, down duvets, phone, tv, hairdryers & DVD. Full breakfast ( hot and cold). Walk to shopping and restaurants. Park and Fly Stay one night and park for 2 weeks free. ( or longer can be arranged) Airport shuttle by prior arrangement for a fee . A perfect start or finish to your wonderful Nova Scotia adventure.
Large lounge to hang out, wonderfully decorated. Very clean, close to Halifax airport. Breakfast was nothing spectacular but it was still very good. (Beats Mcdonald's breakfast) I don't know what to add more, but trip advisor will not let me post unless i write 200 minimum.... dang, I probably won't write reviews anymore

We stayed at the Salmon River Inn for a night on a mid week trip around Nova Scotia. The hospitality was unmatched, we felt right at home. The sunset was lovely from the restaurant and the room. Would recommend to friends and family.

I booked this hotel because of its approximately to the event I was attending. For the price I paid, I wasn't expecting much. But was I in for a surprise......! My room was immaculate clean, with not only microwave & fridge but also a couch, table & 2 chairs plus a large work table. Did I mention that the bed was extremely comfortable? My whole experience was hassle-free........ from the friendly telephone reservation, ease of checking in & out. I also noticed that the owners take a lot of pride in their property by keeping it in tip-top shape as much as possible. Highly recommend to my friends and others.

We've just returned from a short stay at The Marmalade Motel and as you'll see, this is my first TripAdvisor review. Cheryl, Neil and her family couldn't have been more welcoming hosts. We had an unexpected medical emergency the night before our arrival that required a trip to the emergency room for 15 hours, and the owners dealt with it with sincere compassion, fully understanding we'd be arriving later than we expected. The room was literally perfect, not a blemish, and looked exactly as advertised in the photos (and it was comfier than we expected!). It's a really well laid-out place, with amazing views over the ocean, plenty of seating on a deck complete with an outdoor heater, a pizza oven, hot tub, BBQ and a small dock you can walk to. We ordered the midnight snack box and enjoyed a guiltless binge on pretzels, candy, chips, chocolates and more (which we needed after a very stressful previous 24 hours!). Topped it all off with a dip in the hot tub. This morning we woke to a delicious breakfast and amazing coffee. It really proved the difference between a chain hotel, and a family-run establishment - every detail was carefully thought through. While we were unable to go hiking on this trip due to our unexpected delay which cut the trip in half, we will definitely be back this summer for another stay - and we thank Cheryl, Neil and their family for making this a memorable experience for us. We also plan to try your pizza next time, too!

Not a bad place to stay it has bare necessities but no coffee pot.The bed is very comfortable. The room is large and the shower is good. Because it is near a highway it is noisy so bring ear plugs when we went out to tour the city we expected to have the room cleaned but we got back and it wasn't.
