COME AND RELAX IN OUR TRANQUIL ENVIRONMENT, WITH ONLY SOUNDS OF NATURE AT YOUR DOORSTEP... De Old Drift Guest Farm, a short distance from the little village of Addo in South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape province and only 15min drive from the renowned Addo Elephant National Park, with its big Seven, and numerous other species. De Old Drift is a working citrus farm, one of the smallest but most peaceful farms in the area. Relax around the pool after a long day at the Elephant Park, or take a walk through the garden and orchards, when the trees are in blossom, the smell of citrus permeates the air. Enjoy our refreshing breakfast in our thatched roof lapa overlooking the garden and swimming pool area. Your hosts Jena, Lindo & Lunga, will make sure that your stay will be one to remember.
I can not understand how this guest house got any good reviews. The apartment is shabby. The walls are dirty, the toilett is moving, the doors not closing and the shower doesn't get hot or even warm. After our complain they told us that the heath for the hot water wasn't switched on .... SERIOUSLY ... They charge more than other accommodations and are by far the worste we stayed in. Breakfast was well prepared but the menu was sticky and the tablecloth dirty. Furthermore the dogs lay on our seats outside even with our cloth or towels lying there and follow you wherever you go. The yard is well groomed but that's about it.

I enjoyed excellent quality offering, refreshing interior decor. Room spacious and also like the mini catering equipment..ie stove, microwave, bar fridge, electric iron, coffee machine and toaster. I also appreciated the mulltiple charging plugs...If you can add ironing board that would be nice.

The cottages are self catering, and kitted with everything you might need. If you choose to eat out there are great restaurants close in proximity, Africanos been our favorite. Experience true African accommodation when staying at Chrislin African Lodge in traditionally built mud huts located on an eco-friendly farm, just 12km from the main gate of the Addo Elephant National Park. The tranquil setting is described as paradise by nature and bird lovers. If not exploring one of the nearby game reserves, time can be spent relaxing along side the pool or in the lounging lapa. Being a family run lodge, emphasis is placed on friendly service, comfort and delicious South African food. Meals can be served on request during season.
The lodge is an oasis of peace and quiet. For us, this was the sixth and final stop of our trip. We even booked an extra (third) night here, because we found such peace and quiet in the lodge's huge garden among the citrus groves. With our three children, we stayed in a hut with two adjoining rooms. The word hut is an understatement for the very luxurious feeling of the rooms. This is due to the sober but tasteful decor, the great king size beds and the beautiful bathroom with spacious shower. The huts are cleverly arranged, giving you a great sense of privacy, while both the restaurant (where you can have breakfast and dinner) and the pool and playground (highly appreciated by the kids) are all close by. The lodge has a very family atmosphere because of the friendly presence of owner Linda and her son Chris (who organizes day activities and can take you to unique places that you would never be able to see or do on a regular guided tour - check out his company Criss Cross Adventures). If there is one place in SA where we would come again, it is this one.

Came from Cape Town to participate in the Addo Trail run, and met Brian and Jenny, with sidekick dogs Rusty and Pedro. Lovely accommodation, facilities and great company. Every evening ended with engaging banter, sharing and laughter at the bar. Will be back.
