Belgium's fourth-largest - and most beautiful - city is home to a quarter of a million people and a flourishing flower export trade. An important port, Ghent's city center is a pedestrian area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture and a testament to the city's medieval might. Impressive Gothic sites, such as dramatic St. Bavo's Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts, inspire awe. The works of Flemish masters are housed in the distinguished Museum voor Schone Kunst.

Staying in Ganda Rooms & Suites is probably the desire of those who wish to discover the enchanting city of Ghent in a special way. Walking out from the 18th century town house in a quiet street, you plunge yourself into the historic centre of this wonderful city. Ganda Rooms & Suites will guarantee an unforgettable stay for both business and pleasure. Each of the 8 rooms and suites is unique and is distinguished in its colours, size and comfort. With much attention for detail, we have transformed this house into an alluring home away from home safeguarding its authenticity: spacious rooms with high original ceilings, some rooms with an original chimney, others with an antique wooden truss, different terraces or a lovely patio to relax or to take breakfast, a charming salon, decoration and works of art telling each their own story. We chose to work with as many local products as possible: our rooms contain a Belgian tailor made box spring bed, paintings, objects and furniture from our region. With all of this we aim to offer you a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Lovely place!!! Our room was on the ground floor and we had direct access to a small patio. Bed... the most comfortable bed in all of Belgium!!!! Very clean. Friendly hosts. Awesome place that I would love to return to. If I had to find any fault it would be that now the beds at the remaining hotels on this trip will be disappointing..

Hancelot is located in the city-centre of Ghent: 10 minutes walking distance from the Cathedral. The elegant decorated hotel is located in a former Baron’s townhouse dated 1840: high ceilings, authentic wooden floors, and beautiful chimneys. Hancelot features 12 stylish bedrooms, lobby-lounge, garden, terrace, fitness and sauna. At check-in a welcome-drink is served whilst you become many tips, city-map and elaborate information on Ghent. The personal service of a B&B combined with facilities of a hotel.
we stayed two nights in this very charming hotel. The rooms are a bit oldfashioned but the breakfast room is absolutely fantastic. Very convenient parking space nearby, and close to public transport, not far from downtown Gent

What an absolute find. My husband and I were staying in Ghent for four nights and were allocated Room 3, which was spacious, clean and really rather quirky. Huge all singing, all dancing shower, towels toiletries and even a hairdryer! In fact everything you would expect from a high end hotel!! Opted to pay extra for breakfast and Inge provided not only a daily feast (fruit, yoghurt, boiled egg, cold meats, cheeses and variety of freshly baked breads and pastries) but a welcoming smile each morning. Parking is available in a bay to the front of the main building for €6 per day. Local restaurants are many and varied and location is close to all tourist attractions.

Lovely B&B in a historic building just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Ghent. Each room is themed on a different continent and the decor is cool and quirky. The bed was comfy and room was very clean. A continental breakfast is served in the quaint dining room and there’s a nice sitting room area to relax and have drinks. The hosts Hilde and Francis were attentive and helpful.

This tiny hotel has three rooms. Ours was on the third floor and it offered stunning views. It was very nicely appointed and spotless, and the bed was super comfy. The owners treated us as old friends. Yes, the stairs can be intimidating and are not for those with balance, coordination or stamina challenges. The huffing and puffing are quickly forgotten as soon as the door to the room is opened. The location is perfect for groking Ghent, walking around and hunting for chocolate, waffles and great restaurants. Ghent has many students who seem to enjoy late night adult beverages and it can get a little noisy at closing time, so ear plugs would be a good idea.

Enjoy your stay in Ghent!
So often when you book accommodation on line you cannot be sure whether it will live up to expectations. However Expo 13 proves that expectations can indeed be exceeded! Didier and Ktlien were warm and welcoming though we were late in arriving off the Eurostar. Expo 13 is an absolute delight. Beautifully restored and lovingly appointed with every convenience considered. The best stocked mini bar we have ever experienced in a B&B. Gorgeous rooms with a wonderful period charm. The breakfast though an additional charge was very well worth it all fresh produce, great selection of teas, fresh coffee and eggs cooked to order by Didier. Centrally located for the Train station, trams and buses. This is somewhere we would happily return to.

The foundations of what we know today as The Mansion were laid in the 19th century. The grounds were originally bought by Hippolyte Leopold Heughebaert in 1892. He commissioned an architect by the name of Masereel to build him and his family a home, The Mansion. You can clearly see the neoclassical style he used in the face of the building as well as in the entryway with its dramatic pillars and detailing. Most of the detailing on the walls and ceilings however was not added until after the death of Hippolyte by the new owners who added murals and ceiling paintings. The Paintings in the entryway depict personifications of all the major art forms and have been kept unchanged since they were first painted. Today The Mansion is here for you to write the rest of its story
The: - you receive a code to enter both the building and your room, and it works strictly the time of your stay - from checkin at 3pm to checkout at 12am. - no elevator, but 4 flours with extremely narrow stairs and no way to carry your luggage other ways than literally holding it in hands. - we had a duplex suite (two-level room) with 1 big bed and 1 fold-out sofa. - the Google photos are not what you will receive when you arrive. The good things: - beautiful house with high-ceilinged lobby. - pleasant and kind employees: we’ve arrived 30min earlier and our code surely didn’t work yet, so we were assisted via WhatsUp to enter the lobby and wait inside. - the location is very close from the center. - The DolceGusto coffee machine with capsules, love them. The questionable moments: - the restroom a closet - no jokes, the toilet is truly located right in the main room with just a sliding door. Not the kind of privacy you expect in any stay. - same with the shower. And it might be ok for this if you stay a couple only - but still there is no room for wiping oneself, you just suppose come out naked right in the main room. but if you stay with kids or not just your couple - that will be quite an issue. - plus the side shower wall is a see-through wall, so that is also not comfortable if there are more than you two. - absolutely no room for any of your stuff - no shelves, no closet, not even a hook for wet towels - that is so much a mass. - the big bed is upstairs and the fold-out sofa is downstairs at the main room. The note for those who travel with kids: an issue may occur if they would like to stay upstairs, as there will be no sane way for that - the half of the space is not defended by a barrier, which is on for adults, but absolutely not acceptable for kids - so if they may start their tantrum to stay at the second level, take this into account - there won’t be a way to please little guests. - if you’d like to watch TV and the sofa is folded-out, there is no way to do it - as the TV is located on the flour and became covered by bed. - the flour was dirty. All of our socks became dark grey. And there were no house-shoes. - at night there were weird noises of someone walking sounding like in either our room or very very close. I don’t care who it was - a room neighbor, a secret roof climber or a ghost - that was quite annoying. Even if ghosts - they didn’t behave mannerly. - aesthetic pain - the building is truly beautiful, but it seems like it was barely divided into room to fit as much as possible suits. And the rooms are basically sheeted with plasterboard, that make pure sound insulation. As Gent is beautiful, we decided to stay for another day. But changed the hotel for another one (btw cheaper and located in the very center).
