The Inn is located within the walkable historic downtown with restaurants for every taste, and Onancock Creek that provides immediate access to the Bay and stunning sunsets! There is much to do here in Onancock including the typical quaint village activities like antiquing, art gallery mooching, or enjoying a great meal at our several restaurants (open all year) to activities surrounding our deep creek, wharf, natural surroundings, and Tangier Ferry.
if you need a special place for an occasion or just need to get away, this is the place for you. Matt and Kim treat you like pampered guests at their lovely inn. Need a strong cup of coffee delivered to your room in the morning? How about wine, snacks and conversation with like-minded people on a flower bedecked patio? Then you have come to the right place. Each room is named for a special place. We stayed in the Provence room so it was like a slice of France on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Onancock is a charming town with restaurants and shops and access to water for kayaking and boating all within walking distance from the inn. What are you waiting for?

This boutique hotel is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia just four blocks from the deep water harbor on Onancock Creek which empties into the Chesapeake Bay. The hotel features a full service bar, a restaurant with two dining rooms, one casual and one formal, and ten guest rooms.
Stayed one night here in March 22. The restaurant part was not open at this time, so it was room only. Room was fairly small, but comfortable enough, not much of a view outside (some sort of yard at the back). We had everything we needed. Location was right in the center of this small town and we could park right outside. Small general store was a few meters away which also provided breakfasts if you wanted. A small breakfast was provided at the hotel in the morning along with hot coffees etc.

My daughters gave a me a surprise birthday party at a fabulous Irish Tea in the beautifully appointed dining room at Channel Bass Inn, Chincoteague, Virginia. The three-course tea included savories, a variety of scones and delicious sweets. Everything was fresh made on sight. WHAT A BIRTHDAY!!!

Visit the Eastern Shore's charming, quaint towns and marinas - we are ideally located for those who plan to visit not only Chincoteague Island, but also the rest of Maryland and Virginia's Eastern Shore.
This is a wonderful place to stay. From the booking through check out the experience was professional and seamless. The property was well maintained and very clean. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We were treated warmly and the amenities exceptional. Our rooms were well prepared and clean. The entire experience was a 10! Our host was kind and attentive and the breakfast was amazingly delicious. Highly recommend this Inn and will go back to stay. Centrally located and relaxing.

I love this motel only a short drive from downtown Cape Charles, VA. Its kitschy exterior is fun. And the recently remodeled rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay unlike some other value priced motels. Loved the flat screen tv, ceiling fan, vinyl plank flooring, and the sliding barn door into the bathroom. Although we didn't use the outdoor pool on our stay, it looked very nice. I would definitely stay here again for longer than one night next time.

We stayed for four nights. The house is a treasure and the view is terrific. Owner Mary Will is terrific too -- quite friendly and helpful. Her breakfasts were all very high quality and we always waddled away too full to have lunch. This location lacks strong cellular service, so you’ll have to go outside to make mobile phone calls. WiFi is good in the library, dining room, and screened porch. This is “off the beaten path” – a half mile from the mailbox that is located on a lightly-travelled rural road. There is no traffic noise whatsoever. Very relaxing. The nearest destinations are Exmore, Onancock, and Wachapreague.

Our first stay at the inn and it will not be our last. Sandra greeted us with a warm friendly smile. We felt like we were staying with a good friend. Our room was perfect. Right down to the cookies she left for us when we returned in the evening. Beverages were in the room frig along with a wine opener and glasses. Our breakfast was perfect. More like a brunch. The fruit, baked goods and omelette choices were spot on. Sandra made our stay very special. She is the perfect host with the perfect environment.

Recommended Inn when visiting Tangier Island. Established in 1904 by Sidney Wallace a merchant on Tangier Island. Bay View Inn is one of the oldest homes on Tangier Island and is filled with the beauty and charm of day's gone by. Our accommodations have fascinated artists, celebrities and business executives. Guest astronomy folks say it's an excellent location for viewing and searching the stars. Tangier Island's Bay View Inn will touch your soul for years to come. There are nine cottages and two rooms in the main house. Under new ownership and open year-round for you to enjoy a pleasant and restful visit to the quiet and remote fishing village of Tangier Island, Va. Featured in the 1973 November issue of National Geographic.
Bay View Inn on Tangier Island was the perfect escape overnight! Maureen was there to meet us and get us settled in our room. The room was so cozy and very clean. Maureen was a pure delight to sit and have a cup of coffee with us and share her life. We had the beach all to ourselves, had a scrumptious lunch and dinner at Lorraine's restaurant, and enjoyed our afternoon walk touring the island. Our breakfast was delicious. They even gave us a military discount on our stay and food! Our ferry ride on the Joyce Marie was a little choppy but our captain and mate were so fun! Stop and take the time to explore something new and different. There is so much out there to see. Thank you and we will see you all again. Love Always - The White's

"The heart of the Eastern Shore" "The privacy of a fine hotel, in a grand park-like setting, with the full breakfast of a traditional B&B." This award winning historic 1882 Colonial Manor Inn adorns the waterfront village of Onancock (The South's Coolest Small Town). Celebrating 130 years of gracious hospitality, the Manor reflects a relaxed, quiet and welcoming atmosphere with antique filled luxury suites and manicured grounds spanning 2 acres. All rooms offer guest controlled AC, heating, coffee-set-up, digital cable TV with premium movies, private baths, queen beds, luxury linens and amenities, garden gazebo and sunroom. Soak up coastal history and small town charm with a short stroll to the wharf, restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, galleries, theater, kayaking and more. Centrally located, the 1882 Colonial Manor Inn is the best base to see the entire shore from Chincoteague to Cape Charles. By far the best lodging value on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
It seems, more often now than ever, that truly-outstanding customer service is such a rarity that it leaves those seldom occurrences to be forever ingrained in our memory. I daresay our experience at Colonial Manor goes beyond even those scant bouts of exemplary service. Our accommodations were delightful, the atmosphere is second-to-none, and don't even get me started on what an incredible deal it was (I won't belabor the subject but it's well below the rate of the industry standard for far above the level of service which these establishments would provide). We felt very welcome, and were quite pleased with the degree of flexibility in which our stay was tailored to our needs. We did not worry once during the trip as we felt ourselves to be in expert hands. Our gracious hosts, themselves the embodiment of southern charm and hospitality, provided us with meals I'll never forget and with such immersive and knowledgeable stories that they will be forever used as a benchmark for others to live up to. We have since returned home, only to find ourselves utterly spellbound and captivated by the experience. How often is it that you return from a vacation truly relaxed and refreshed anymore? We most certainly will be back and could not even begin to attest to just how completely delightful this experience has been for us. Thank you again!

We stayed for a week, on our first real vacation since the pandemic began. We were very comfortable and felt at home right away. Thom is so gracious and welcoming, and makes excellent breakfasts! We loved meeting the pup, Aida as well. The week was a good balance between relaxing on the porch and getting out to some beaches and nature trails. The Spinning Wheel is in a convenient location, walking distance to restaurants and the wharf in town, and well situated for exploring other parts of the Eastern Shore. We are already planning to return next spring.
