An independent hostel within the conservation area of Dunbar situated on the coast of East Lothian. Recently refurbished the hostel has 11 bedrooms, a mix of twins, doubles, bunks and a large family / group room. Lounge, dining room, kitchen and large courtyard.
We stayed here for 3 nights, parent and 4 year old. The place was spotless, like a home from home, with everything you might need. Decor is beautiful and a joy to see. Lisa and Neil were on hand all the time for anything and made lots of effort with my little one, and really helped in any way they could to make my stay more relaxing and easy as a single parent. Little touches like tea and coffee and a well stocked but clean kitchen was just fab. Location is perfect too, everything you need or want to do on hand, or a very short drive away. A really perfect holiday and our first since Covid, made wonderful by all at the Dolphin Inn, would highly recommend this gem of a place!

Situated in this beautiful conservation village of East Linton in the heart of East Lothian, we are ideally located for fishing, golfing, walking and sight seeing. Our fantastic chefs offer menus featuring local and seasonal produce. Come and sit by the fire or in our unique walled garden (when the weather allows) and sample a few real ales or a chilled glass of wine. We hope to welcome you soon!!

My friend and I stayed at the Old Aberlady Inn on our John Muir walk across Scotland. Of the 11 places we stayed on our walk this Inn was my favorite. It was clean, cozy and the hosts-John and Michael-were very friendly and warm. The restaurant is superb and a good value. 5 stars to The Old Aberlady Inn!!

The Goblin Ha' is a warm and inviting country inn with seven comfortable bedrooms. The two bars are full of character with log burning fires and great friendly service serving a selection of real ales, beers, spirits and wines. Our varied menu contains something for everyone and is freshly prepared to strict guidelines and recipes by our team of chefs using only Scottish assured beef.
We have been visiting Gifford on holiday for 15 years and after realising the Goblin Ha was under new management we returned for a relaxing few drinks... So glad we did. Chris the owner introduced himself and welcomed us and our dog. All I can say is that if the welcome is anything to go by, we can’t wait to return to the Goblin Ha.

An 11 bedroomed Hotel incorporating doubles, twins and single rooms. Restaurant seating approx. 80 people with an option for private dining. fabulous views from both sides of the building with facilities to sit outside.
On arrival all seemed good, nice decor friendly staff ( wish I'd got the name of the girl who checked us in - by far the best member of staff we encountered) The room was £49 with £10 per head breakfast. We were shown to the room , which on first impression looked good, tasteful decor & nice view, so now we're into the problem areas. Makeup light in the bathroom didn't work, kettle lid didn't shut & was dented where some previous guest had tried to close it, the shower only gave lukewarm water ( spent a good 15 minutes running it & going through every setting multiple times) Most annoying though was the complete lack of compliance to Covid rules, in the Hotel we were the ONLY ones wearing face covering no other guests of staff were wearing masks. £69 B&B for this want good value & a crying shame on how it used to be. Not planning on a return trip

We have a Bistro and a Restaurant serving award winning food all day every day from noon with last orders at 9:00 pm.
Brilliant food & service. Such friendly staff. Popped in & it wasn’t a problem to have a few drinks in the beer garden before having our own candle lit table ready whenever it suited us. It was our first visit. We will be back!

The Dean is spacious and elegant, each room filled with curio and antiques of interest and accommodation to a high standard. There are two beautifully decorated double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one bedroom with private bathroom and another double bedroom and twin bedroom with a bathroom that can be private to either, depending on which way the rooms are let.
My son and I have stayed every year for 5 years running when up playing golf. You will not meet a more helpful, friendly lady than Caroline who has become a true friend over the years. Always accomodating, rooms always impeccably clean, food and service always brilliant, just always an awesome experience.

Been coming here for years, and so I thought it would be a good idea to bring friends here for lunch. Unfortunately the place seems to have gone badly downhill since my last visit. Very disappointing service, from a very unfriendly waitress. I’m afraid I won’t be back for a long time. Food was OK, otherwise it this would be a one star review, purely because of the miserable service.

Cottage SHAKES every time a train passes. I booked a cottage expecting a modest house in the village per the description. The owner fails to disclose that the cottage is built up against a train embankment. The major train line between Edinburgh and London runs on this, so trains are going past as frequently as every ten minutes. Each time the sound is deafening and the whole house shakes. The master bedroom and another bedroom face this embankment and the windows open on to it. As a light sleeper this was completely unacceptable to me. I would expect a decent owner to note this in the description as it is a major noise issue. The owner also claims a “courtyard view” but what this really means is that there’s a view of asphalt and a brick wall from the small living room and kitchen windows. The bedrooms have a view of the train embankment or no view at all.
