This small friendly hotel is one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most interesting buildings. It was originally constructed as a Tudor merchant's house and would have been a welcome sight when the Pilgrim Fathers stopped off at Bayards Cove on their way to America in August 1620. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayards Cove in the centre of this lovely town, with the market and main shopping area only a short level walk away. Guests are sure to enjoy the unique character of the hotel and its thoughtfully refurbished luxury rooms, all of which have freeview, televisions and DVD players, and some also enjoy views over the water of the cove.
Stayed one night last minute , upgraded free to Drake room, wonderfully quirky, cozy and wonky as the age of the building dictates. Probably the warmest welcome from all the staff we have ever experienced in a hotel , great breakfast, well done and thanks

The Ship in Dock Inn is a small family run pub with bed & breakfast accommodation in the beautiful estuary town of Dartmouth. We are located close to the river Dart over looking Coronation Park and within easy walking distance of the main town amenities. The pub has a small intimate bar and dining room, with home cooked Tapas and Pizzas served on selected nights. We do not have our own car park but guests have the use of our passes for the main town car park.
Nice pub with friendly staff and some regulars in the bar and reasonable prices. Room lovely and clean with a river view. Nice touches and decor too. We didn't eat here so cannot review the food. Would probably have passed it over but for the positive reviews, but I'm impressed with the cleanliness and the location for Dartmouth.

We were recommend to this lovely Bed and Breakfast. Well worth paying for the water front view we felt like we were on a cruise ship looking out our window. Everything we needed in room and clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent and we took advantage of the lift to the park and ride so we didn't have to worry about parking all weekend. Had some excellent meals out and Dartmouth is just beautiful. Lots of good walks from the doorstep too. We would love to return a very friendly lovely place to stay.

We chose this restaurant as 4years ago we had a wonderful fish dinner. This time it was all a bit average. The furniture is getting old and worn. I had to ask for my chair to be changed as I could feel the frame through the tired cushion cover. The upstairs was extremely warm so was desperate for fresh air. All in all a bit disappointing. I might try again next visit to check I wasn’t just unlucky.

A lovely Dartmouth home which offers comfortable, relaxing accommodation, complemented with some of the most stunning views Dartmouth has to offer. A short walk from the heart of town, but far enough away to benefit from out tranquil surroundings. Only interrupted with the church bells and occasional steam train whistle. We are fortunate to offer a parking space for each of our guest bedrooms, a real bonus in this area.
We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends locally, and we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay. Neil & Neville are warm & welcoming hosts, the property is beautifully furnished & everything felt fresh & clean. We had booked a standard double and though the room was quite small it was well fitted & extremely comfortable, and the WiFi was good. The breakfast was really excellent and enhanced by the amazing views across the valley & down to the river. It’s a lovely place to stay.

Family of 6 We have all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gorgeous rooms, Clean homely and spacious. The fresh smell of roses and lilies fills the air as you walk through the 500 year old home of Stuart and Kevin. Hosting a 5 star establishment is not an easy job and takes many skills, Kevin and Stuart have got this off to a fine art! To give a mention to the cleaning staff, they do a thorough job and leave your room in a first class condition. Nothing too much trouble at Strete Barton House, old style first class customer service, you won’t be disappointed.

A wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful South Hams. Set in a secluded position down a peaceful farm lane with views out over the mouth of the River Dart, convenient for the charming village of Dittisham, the River Dart and "Greenway House" the former home of Agatha Christie. The historic port of Dartmouth, with its fine range of shops, restaurants and cafes and the Britannia Naval College, is just ten minutes drive. Great walking with great views all around the area. Ample safe parking. Wi Fi
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights, and it is possibly the nicest place I’ve stayed in. Breakfast was spot on, good variety and served at a time of your preference. The rooms were immaculate, and the view from the balcony is stunning. Andrew and Martin were very knowledgable about the local are more than happy to help with any questions you may have. Honestly my girlfriend has not stopped talking about how much she liked this place, and I’m sure if you stay here you’d see why. I’d return without question. Thank you Andrew and Martin for your hospitality ??

A stunning contemporary bed and breakfast set in a magical private woodland setting.Ample parking, swimming pool and beautiful bedroom units set apart from the main house with private entrances. Rooms feature private terraces, sitting areas, bath and separate showers. Very quiet and restful with attentive service from the owners. Please note we are an adult only venue and do not accept animals. Some of our rooms are up steep steps and would not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
We recently returned from a 3 night stay which definitely exceeded our expectations and they were high to begin with. The place is in a perfect spot with beautiful gardens and a swimming pool which would not disgrace a 5 star hotel. What makes this really special however is the attention to detail. Fresh milk and lemon in the fridge, sweets and biscuits, flowers in the room, all convey the sense that you are staying in a place where your experience really matters to the hosts. Breakfast is something to really look forward to with a great choice beginning with freshly squeezed orange juice. Over breakfast Gordon and Tony are happy to provide information about the area and suggestions for walks or visits. Our room (Beech) was lovely with a great terrace but I’m guessing all the rooms would be as good. Only regret not staying longer. Many thanks.

Awarded 3* village inn in the heart of the Devon countryside. Silver award from Green Tourism. Cask Marque awarded ales. Fresh seasonal food on a daily changing menu
Recently stayed at The Goerge for 3 nights without breakfast in a superior room. Very overpriced for the standard of the room, small with an uncomfortable sloping bed. The decor could have been Ok without all the nick nacs. Hairdryer had the wall attachment with it so you had to hold that as well as the dryer whilst drying hair. But the main thing was that our beds weren't made for the whole time of our stay, the cups were only washed one night of our stay. I would have expected the beds to have been made, cups washed and teabags and biscuits replenioshed each night for £100 a night. Good shower. Thin walls, woken by other guests early each morning. Very dissapointing.
