My family and I (group of 10) stayed here to attend a funeral. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and given use of the beautiful guest living room to enjoy our takeaway. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful and service was excellent. We were so happy to stay here and it is a beautiful house. The Shetland ponies and dogs added to the charm.

My family and I needed weekend accommodation for eight people. Fortview Bed and Breakfast was able to offer what we needed. Located just outside the main town of Cavan, but with Fortview itself and also a pub at the end of the road offering evening meals, it was ideal. The proprietors of Fortview, Catherine and Sean, were wonderfully welcoming, offering us immediate hospitality on arrival of tea/coffee and sandwiches/cakes. Because we were in Cavan for a funeral, we were out for most of the weekend, but the bedroom accommodation was excellent - warm, comfortable and clean and breakfast was delicious. Catherine and Sean were simply ideal hosts and went out of their way to provide us with everything we needed. Thank you, Catherine and Sean. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast accommodation.

Take adventurous trips around the lake, exploring the property owned Church Island or the golf course across the lake. Inside 20 minutes driving distance are choices of tourist attractions like the family owned Ross Castle, Fore Abbey or Tullynally Castle. Also neighbouring ancient Megalithic Graves, the historic Lough Crew Gardens.
We stayed here for a small family funeral in the area and everyone agreed it was absolutely fantastic. The bedrooms were clean, cozy and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and the animals endearing. We did not avail of the equestrian facilities but we will return when restrictions are lifted for a proper stay. Many thanks for making our stay very special.

Booked this B&B online through booking.com as I saw good reviews. They took the money and then cancelled the next day without any reason, lucky we checked our email! This was only 3 days before we were due to arrive! So had to scramble for other accommodation last minute and fork out more money as our refund hadn’t come through and will take a week due to the holiday period. Very disappointed.

We (2 adults & 2 teenagers) visited on Aug. 3rd, 2021, having booked 2 hours previously. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff, the service they gave, the food, the location everything was just spot on. It must have a great reputation as it was very busy for a Tuesday evening. Very tasty food for very reasonable prices, all 4 of us would be regular customers if we were from that part of the world.
