How lucky were we to get to stay here… my partner had mentioned re staying a few times and I thought, I’ll just check and there it was, 1 room available for a mid week stay - rang and spoke with Stacey and room Millett was quickly booked. We arrive to a warm welcome by Stacey and a glass of bubbles - totally unexpected.. we were given a show of the property, it is just lovely, tons of history and felt immediately relaxed.. the room was beautiful, big bath, four poster and a view of the gardens - so very nice! Champagne was in a bucket on ice as requested which just set the scene for a lovely stay.. After dinner out in the beautiful village, we returned and enjoyed a drink from the honesty bar in the sitting room in front of a log fire - loved it.. Breakfast next day was fantastic, plenty of choice and delicious- we forgot to fill out the breakfast card the night before, and remembered at 05.30 in the morning! Not a problem.. staff were super friendly and a delight. Stacey was fantastic throughout and made this all possible so a huge thanks for all your help. We will definitely be returning and hope to be back soon!!

Good stay but…

Very good welcome and exceptionally clean hotel. Comfortable room good parking and excellent location to walk in to Bourton. The breakfast was very good, with choice. During our stay the fire alarm was activated at 07:15 am all guests left the building. The hotel was unmanned and guests were unsure what to do, another guest rang the owners who advised we could go back inside the building as it was a false alarm. We feel this procedure is not correct as nobody in authority had inspected the building! At breakfast we were told it was due to someone smoking in their room! The whole incident appeared to be taken very lightly. We feel the fire alarm safety procedure should be reviewed

Beaumont House

Beaumont House is 14 bedroom guesthouse with off-street parking. It was the home of the Read family in the 1880's. On the 27th October 1884 Anketell Moutray Read was born in Beaumont House, the youngest son of Colonel John Moutray Read. Anketell Read was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in The Gloucestershire Regiment on 21st November 1903. He served in India. He was 30 years old, and a Captain in the 1st Battalion, The Northamptonshire Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. This is the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Beaumont House was later owned by the Tilley family, who ran a large muffin bakery in the town. The tiled floor in the reception area was restored in the 1980's, after the recovering discarded tiles from the same period when an adjacent house was being renovated. During the 1980s, Beaumont House was converted into a guest house and it has undergone extensive renovation. It is now owned by Fiona Burke, an Irish businesswoman from Dublin. The hotel operates in a very modern way via a self check-in kiosk, with a duty manager contactable at all times. Smartphone check-in is also available via the TLJ Security app. Breakfast is a complimentary cereal bar and takeaway tea or coffee- super simple and very tasty! We have our own private carpark (there is a parking space for every guest bedroom) and two 22KW charging points suitable for all makes and model of car. Guests pay for charging via the EO Charging app (the QR code is located on the charger).

Absolutely spectacular experience in the 'Out of Africa' room

Reviewed By Hardeep R

I was recently on a business trip in Cheltenham and at the last minute booked this Hotel. I honestly had no expectations other than to get a comfortable bed where I could rest for the night. I was lucky enough to meet the owner on arrival and I booked the 'Out of Africa' room. It was absolutely incredible. The attention to detail in the room was second to none and I literally felt that I was on Safari... The bathroom had a Jacuzzi which was much needed especially after a long day. I would recommend this hotel (and particularly this room) to anyone and I will definitely be back there again on my next visit.

Perfect cute little hotel in the Cotswolds with great food

We had a wonderful time at the Frogmill Hotel! I stayed there with my Mum for 3 nights in a super cosy two bed room in the attic! The whole hotel is beautifully decorated with an eye for style & colours! The staff is great, they make you feel welcome every step in the way. And the food is very good! You can choose between various breakfast options and the dinner menu is very divers and everything we had was great. The one time when they forgot the asparagus in the otherwise yummy pea/asparagus truffle oil risotto it took only a few minutes fir my Mum to get an extra plate with pan roasted asparagus as a side dish! We even had the most amazing experience when on our last day before we could start for the airport, our car had a flat tire and Natasha changed it all by herself as the rental car company was unable to send someone to get it fixed in time! I will definitely come back with my husband as it is a great place for a romantic weekend!

Nice stay

Reviewed By glillym

-Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights recently in the Squirrel room in the Stuart House just up the road from the Bell . Whilst the room is really nicely decorated, cosy and very clean, it was absolutely tiny meaning it got very warm and there was no room for storing any bags. This was made more difficult by the many cushions on the bed which looked lovely but meant that a lot of floor space was taken up by storing the cushions. The bathroom was nice with shampoo/conditioner etc with a good shower. One improvement to the room we both said was that it would be nice if there were some bedside lamps as we either had to have the big lights on or nothing at all before bed. One great thing was the parking for Stuart house as I can imagine finding a space would have been really tricky. As we weren’t spending much time in the room anyway, the size didn’t bother us too much but if we stay here again I would definitely book a bigger room as it was a struggle getting around.

The Village Pub

Picture the very best-of-British country pub. Fill it with a generous stock of Cotswolds craft ales, crisp West Country ciders and a good few bottles of a sommelier’s most favoured wine stash. Add a menu of delicious food that's soulful, seasonal and cleverly showcases the very best of local produce... Generous, comforting and just made for tucking in. And a good few notches above your usual "pub grub." Pepper with a few shakes of standout community spirit, armchairs that beg for you to fall into them and six rather good-looking bedrooms, bursting with soft hues and all the country comfy touches you could want. You've found our Village Pub, a mere hop, skip and jump across the road from the lovely Barnsley House... And wherever you’re from, you’re one of the locals. So... What are you having?

Worthy arrangement

Probably could have come up with a better name but this is an attractive Cotswold stone pub with a good restaurant. We spent three nights in the first floor Sage room, large room, well furnished, steps up to the bath. Overlooks the Barnsley road but it’s a very quiet village, it wasn’t a problem. The large pub has a good kitchen … the sausage and mash is highly recked. Breakfasts are served at upmarket Barnsley House, a grand old pile about a quarter mile up the road. Excellent menu.

The Royal Oak Tetbury

Following the sympathetic restoration of a 17th-century Cotswold inn, The Royal Oak in Tetbury reopened in August 2013 as a fun, creative and friendly free house. There's an intimate saloon vibe in the bar, informal dining upstairs and six lovely en suite rooms sit on the other side of the cobbled courtyard in the former skittle alley. We l ate at the restaurant - everything was freshly cooked, tasty and good value for money, a good menu and wine list - would highly recommend we are already planning a return next year.

Quaint old building, very nice for a relaxing post-hike drink or two

Reviewed By jinox

Didn't stay in the hotel, but stopped in for a refreshing drink after a long country hike. The building is charmingly old-school, with lots of higgledy-piggledy rooms at varying heights. The bar area was deserted when we arrived, but we quickly found the manager at the front desk and he served us drinks promptly, then guided us to a delightful little garden seating area to enjoy them. Drinks were excellent, perfectly chilled ciders just the job after our exertions. Menu of Sri Lankan food sounded interesting, but sadly we had other plans.

Perfect place for a stop-over

Stayed here to break our journey to Cornwall. We had the Art Deco room, which I really liked but my husband found a little cramped for his larger frame! So perhaps we’d try a different room next time. A special mention for the gluten-free options at breakfast - not only was there fruit and yoghurt, which we were expecting would be all that would be suitable, but also gluten-free cereal, pastries and toast. Definitely a little gem!
