Great hotel, very clean. But the management in the hotel is absolutely tremendous. They were all very friendly and polite and always willing to help with anything needed. Especially the man on the desk (forgot his name) but he gave us a lift to the port and also throughout our time there was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to ios.

We came for a 3 days-trip in the beautiful island of Ios. We stayed at George & Irene Hotel during our journey. The hotel is on the tops of Ios allowing us to admire the Chora and the sunset each night. The localisation is perfect near bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The room was simple but efficient, clean, cosy and it was very useful to have a little terrace every morning. George and Irene are lovely people, very kind, welcoming and accomodating. Due to a late ferry at the port, Irene kept our luggages all day long after our check-out that we could enjoy our last day on Ios. She was present until our departure, a big thank you to her. Staying at Ios without going through George and Irene Hotel would be missing out greek kindness. Charlotte et Julien from France

My sister and I stayed here at the beginning of August 2021, we booked it very last minute and arrived very late in the evening, we got a warm welcome by the staff and they immediately greeted us and brought us to our room which was very clean and spacious and had a spectacular view from the balcony onto the gorgeous santorini! The staff showed us the very short walk to the town, it was less than 5 minutes, and the beach was only a 10-15 minute walk away ! Throughout our stay, our room was kept very clean and the staff remained so friendly and helped us in any way they could ! There would always be someone around at any time to help and coming back from the town or beach we would always have a friendly greeting which created a lovely welcoming friendly atmosphere. The most amazing gesture from the staff happened on the very last day. They would give lifts on their mini bus for everyone going to the port so you don’t have to get a taxi ! Unfortunately my sister and I were late checking out so we missed the lift down to the port, not only were they very understanding of us checking out late but they also did another run just for us and our bags down to the port again ! They then recommend a lovely place to go for a coffee while waiting for the ferry! Everything about this hotel was amazing ! In particular the staff, When I return to santorini, I will most definitely be returning to this hotel. I have never left a review before but this place was so amazing I had to make sure I left a 5 star review ! I would most definitely recommend 10/10 ! And again to all the staff, thank you so much, you are brilliant !

Ihad a lovely stay here. The family were so welcoming and inviting. The courtyard to the front of the property is beautiful. The property is clean and close to the port so perfect if you are catching a ferry. As a solo female traveller I felt safe here. Thank you for a great stay!

George's Place is a charming family business located in the town of Ios.You can enjoy beautiful moments in a friendly environment.George's Place rooms provide a unique view to the picturesque town of Ios which is worth seeing.
Positives: George the owner is a kind gentleman. The rooms were very clean. The location is good. Negatives: Mis-selling. dishonesty and unprofessional behaviour towards customers. The fact that I had paid for a deluxe room with a balcony but was given the first room on the ground flour with a shared open walkway. I had requested by messaging and asking verbally too to be allocated a top floor room with a balcony. This was ignored and Elena, the owners daughter told me on the first day that they were fully booked and she couldn’t give me a top floor room. I found the room I was given was depressing as I had to keep the curtains closed due to other guests passing up and down outside in the walkway. Although the room was very clean, it was dated and worn out regarding the decor and had been cheaply furnished. On the 2nd day, due to the shower room not being adequately built for health and safety (due to shower area having no ledge to stop water flowing out into the rest of the shower room), I had a fall when I came out of the shower. Also due to the wear and tear and cheap shower fitment, a knob attached to the shower unit came apart. I couldn’t fit it on again. I will due to leave the place at 11:00 am to be dropped off to the port by George for a 12:00 noon ferry. The drive is 10 minutes. Due to the fall, I called Elena in their office from the room and told her I need some extra time to get over the fall and leave at about 11:30. I told her I will vacate the room but sit outside to gather myself as I was in pain on my knee and hip after the fall. She told me she couldn’t understand what I was saying ( very strange as her English was very good up to now). She then came to knock on the room door exactly at 11 and ushered me out claiming she had new guests moving in so she had to ‘organise’ everything. I again mentioned to her about leaving a bit later but she refused and I was told to go in the van. When she asked me how the stay was, I told her again that I had booked a deluxe balcony room but got a ground floor room which I found depressing to stay in. She flatly denied that my booking had guaranteed a balcony. She said she didn’t see it on the booking. This was shockingly dishonest be hmmmmm if Elena. I have the booking and it’s clearly stated what I booked. I got in touch with Booking.com customer service to ask for a partial refund as I felt I had been mis-sold the room and also the room was not safe due to the shower flood and fall I had. I have pictures to show the flood, the knob of the shower fixture and also the booking confirmation stating I had a deluxe room with a balcony. I sent all these to the property and Booking.com too. Booking.com got back to me and said that the property had refused a refund or an apology of what happened to me. They also told me that the property claimed I had damaged something! That was the shower knob that came away! I then called the property to ask about what exactly was the damage and Margerita, the owners other daughter picked up the phone. I asked to speak to Elena but was told she was not available. I explained to Margerita about the danger in the shower etc and she started shouting at me! She claimed I should have got a doctor to check my injury there and then etc. I was trying to tell her I couldn’t as I had a ferry to Santorini. She screaming and shouting madly. She was like a woman possessed, shouting so loudly at me and not listening to my explanation. It was very unprofessional and shocking and I feel very depressed about this episode and the dishonesty portrayed by Elena. I have attached pictures to show how the shower room flooded and of the knob fitting that came away. I may make a complaint to the Ios tourist board as they are not running the place safely and professionally.

I’ve stayed at Lofos three times now and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ios. The hotel is in the perfect location, walking distance to all the restaurants, supermarket, bus stop and all the nightclubs in the village. Nikos is so helpful and will go above and beyond to help you out, all other staff are super lovely. Bathrooms are a bit small, probably not ideal for families. AC is cold, wifi works and your room is cleaned daily with fresh towels.

Stayed for 3 nights while island hoping and found this a good, clean and well priced small hotel. Met on the road by George so easy to find being only a few hundred meters from the port. Few facilities at the hotel itself but 2mins walk finds you on the quiet beach with loungers supplied by the restaurants and bars on the beach front. Moderately easy walk up to the livelier village or take the bus from the roundabout for €1.80 (last bus back at 11.00 but steps down make it safe to walk down at night)
