Unfolding the History of Chittorgarh: Chittorgarh is a city in Rajasthan which is located on the banks of river Gambhiri and Berach. The district was bifurcated and a new district namely Pratap Garh was created with certain portion taken from Udaipur district in the newly created district of Pratap Garh. This city of Chittorgarh is the epitome of pride, romance and spirit, for people of Chittor who always chose death before surrendering against anyone. Bassi Fort Palace is the epitome of the glorious history of the Chundawat clan. It was built way back in in the 16th century by Thakur Jaimal of the Sisodia dynasty, cousin of Maharana Pratap who is a distinct part of the history, founder of the Bassi principality. The 16th century Bassi Fort Palace by Tuma Hotels India is just a fleeting distance of 25 km from Chittorgarh. It is amidst the hills of the Vindhyachal ranges and makes a perfect break and an embrace of Heritage India.
There are lot of conflicting reviews about this place so I will try to clarify the same which will help future travellers to make a decision accordingly. If one is looking for a luxurious/new age property with all creature comforts I would recommend look closer to udaipur. You will be better served. But for those okay to pay a premium to stay in a haveli which is 100s of years old with neat and clean air conditioned rooms (room standard equivalent to a 3 star hotel. Overall heritage value is priceless) look no further. Real village experience right outside the gate. Caring staff who provide mouth watering home style food. A brilliant open air sit out area outside the rooms. An half hour drive to explore the majestic chittorgarh fort. To top it all if you have the good fortune to spend an evening with Col Sisodia, the part owner, who shares stories and facts about the rich history of the region and his family, then it's a completely unique experience. Would definitely recommend if one enjoys the above and wants to experience it first hand. In the pandemic most hospitality outfits have been adversely affected and are slow on the take. In our experience, have patience and clearly ask for what you want from the staff and you shouldnt be dissapointed.

The Hotel was started in 1992, earlier it was a restaurant which became very popular among the locals and the travelers. So in 2016 we started with 10 rooms our aim was to give the people a good experience in a budget price. The rooms thus were made in a way that they can match the luxury rooms of any hotel in Chittaurgarh. We have the Best food in town and thus travelers can have Best of Both.
Going by the rate i booked, i didnt think high of this hotel and had told my kids not to have high expectation. but they were pleasantly surprised when we reached there. The rooms are big and clean (we were a family of four in one room). And the best part is the hospitality of the owner shree Rituraj. A very polite, helpful person, he is there to answer you queries and guide you with a personal touch. I could feel that more than money he wants to make us feel welcome and at home ... The warmth there is definitely much better than the Cold in so many high end hotels... Great Rituraj ji.. Atithi Devo Vawa..

Rooms were very clean and well maintained with very good facilities. It's just 5 mins from the fort. We stayed on a Monday, so probably the service was slow. Food was also ok, and staff are friendly. They even arranged for a guide who was great.

Haveli Gokul Niwas is a traditional house of Rajputs of Jhala clan, desendents of Jhala Maan of Badisadri, who sacrificed his life for Maharana Pratap in the great battle of Haldighati (1576 AD) against Mughal Emperor Akbar. Haveli Gokul Niwas offers a showcase of rural life of the traditional state of Rajasthan.

Booked online, large and clean room, breakfast included, good breakfast, good facilities. Great for families as well. Shout out to Mr. Dinesh Pal, the manager, who spent a lot of time speaking to us and helping us with local auto rates for sightseeing. Thanks and highly recommend!

Honestly the only good hotel in Chittorgarh. Pratapgarh Palace is a excellent hotel to stay, very hygiene and clean rooms to stay, specious enough, very reasonable, exellent hospitality, limited but excellent menu as far as food is concerned. Very good room service. It is home away from home.

Dirty hotel. Location is some road side building with lot of dirt around. Parking is on open road. Toilets are teriffying. Attitude of the staff rather owner is rottening. No proper lights. Photo shown on website do not match reality. Far dirty then in pictures. I had a booking but eventually cancelled after seeing the reality. Not at all fit for family stay.
