The Cape Ann Motor Inn is located directly on Long Beach. Located in Gloucester MA its just 30 miles northeast of Boston. All kitchenettes and guest rooms overlook the ocean, with a beautiful view of Thacher Island and its twin lighthouses. We border the town of Rockport. We are open year round and are dog friendly!
The title says it all. Cape Ann Motor Inn is exactly what it's supposed to be. A lovely nostalgic memory of how things used to be. We've been coming for at least 30 years. My Brother and I used to live on Cape Ann, moved away but our Mom still lived in Rockport. Before she moved into senior housing, we'd go to the 'Rockport end' of Long Beach. Such great memories. Then we began staying at Cape Ann Motor Inn. It's so laid back and wonderful (especially off season) and everyone's like family. Thank you guys for being so lovely during our recent stay. We left our Mom in her final resting place. A small family plot in Oak Hill. But her memory remains off Long Beach. As do ours.

I was at Addison Choate last week, from May 1 to May 5. I stayed in the first floor guest room, which is called Wide Berth. As other reviewers have stated, it is a relaxing, modern place to stay (with a touch of a retro feel). The photos on the website represent it well. Room and bath were immaculate. The room had a small refrigerator, a TV, two comfortable chairs, and a coffee maker. I am a tea drinker, and Marshall gave me an electric tea pot for my use in the room, which was very nice. Everything was comfortable. Parking lot for guest use. As others have said, every day I filled out a menu card for the next day's continental breakfast, which was available at 8:30 am to pick up. Lots of items to choose from, and everything was fresh. Especially enjoyed the scones. Marshall was friendly and great to talk to. Thank for for a relaxing stay.

This is a 200 year old house overlooking the beach and the Fisherman’s Memorial, walking distance to the downtown area, the harbour and also to Stage Fort Park. There is a small car park at the rear of the property as well as free parking on the street right outside. Also a lovely sunny terrace at the front. We had a great room on the top floor - need to be aware there are stairs up from the street and to the two upper floors so maybe not suitable for those with mobility issues. We took smaller overnight bags to our top floor room We particularly enjoyed the breakfast conversations with the owner John and with other guests.

I don’t often write reviews because each person has their own ideas, but it is necessary to let others know the issues I encountered on this visit. 1. The walls are so thin that I heard all occupants in my floor and the floor above me. 2. I was hoping their going to sleep would stop the noise problem. But, the gentleman in the room next to me snored so loudly it was impossible to sleep. 3. I got less than 3 hours of sleep! 4. The people who stayed in the room across the hall said they were freezing all night. I was too warm. Old houses are hard to maintain, but this one could use better insulation and some sound proofing. Bring lots of layers (except in the summer) and a noise canceling head phones.
