Bristol is a quirky British city with beautiful hilly vistas and plenty of historic sights to explore. Anyone interested in ships will have a blast aboard Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the world’s first great oceanliner, and the Matthew, a replica of the ship upon which John Cabot sailed to America in the 15th century. The graceful Clifton Suspension Bridge is another must-see.

Situated very close to the docks on a quiet residential street. A nice surprise was that the rooms with shared facilities have their own sink in-room. The owner/manager is absolutely amazing, committed to making you feel at home and making sure you have a great stay. Really enjoyed my time here, and had one of the best sleeps ever!

One night stay while touring Bristol Uni. Lady on desk was welcoming but all lights were off, bit of a gloomy start. Our room was a reasonable size but a bit cobwebby. Beds quite comfy but bedding a bit ill fitting and blanket stained. No light in shower cubicle, we asked for this to be replaced. When we returned there was debris and dust all over the bathroom where someone had attempted to do so but still no light, so we had a shower in the gloom. Desk lady was apologetic. The hallway outside our room was unbelievably hot and we could actually see steam. I think this was due to a hot tap running in the caretakers room which was left open all the time. Breakfast was OK, but if you didn't fancy anything cooked, or were veggie, it would have been a bit crap. The location is great if you want to be really central, or are a party person, but not if you want more than a couple hours sleep. We were OK, but in summer with windows open it would be tough. I'd say this stay was ok for us, but I definitely wouldn't describe any aspect as luxury, sorry.

We offer ten stylish bedrooms in a recently refurbished Georgian merchant’s house at the top of the city. We offer an alternative to the corporate environment of city hotels, providing a contemporary 'home away from home' feel — focusing on the highest level of comfort and care. With panoramic city views from the rear of the building and the vast expanse of Clifton Downs to the front we are ideally placed for a short stop-over or weekend city break.
We spent one night in Number Thirty Eight and were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite, room number 2. It was a huge space divided into two sections, a sleeping/sitting area and a bath/ shower/ ablutions area, including a stylish roll top, metal bath. The suite was decorated in a smart, contemporary style with gorgeous double aspect views, one window looking over to the Downs and the other providing a fabulous panorama over the city. It was a peaceful, beautiful space to relax after a day of walking the city. Breakfast was excellent. Ordered the night before, everything was prepared specially when we arrived and we really enjoyed both the full English and one of the egg and garlic mushroom options. The position of Number Thirty Eight is perfect for the Downs and for exploring Clifton, the suspension bridge and Clifton Village being about a 20/25 min walk away. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Quiet family run Bed & Breakfast near the center of Bristol in a 'Village' location with lots of quality Restaurants, Cafes & Pubs in walking distance.
This place is immaculate and the whole process of booking in, communication, ease of parking and provisions was perfection. The room was so clean, bright and airy. No skimping on the provisions of tea, biscuits and continental breakfast and toiletries - all good quality. This was a business trip and the quiet peacefulness of the hotel and room was wonderful - very quaint too. Will definitely be returning

This venue has such a beautiful beer garden. Their variety of drinks is incredible and the staff are amazing. You can clearly see the venue is managed well and the staff are well trained. Definitely will be back again and the young manager there is super helpful for any questions I had with bookings.

I’ve already stayed in the Guest House three times and each time I’ve had a warm, friendly welcome from Jessica. The rooms are clean, light and airy, some with views over the common. The beds are comfortable for a good night’s sleep and breakfast in the morning is plentiful with all tastes catered for. One thing which I found very useful were the frequent buses running in to the centre of Bristol with bus stops practically outside the door. I will be back soon!

Excellent rooms, well appointed. Great bathroom big double shower of the best quality with Elemis toiletries. Despite being above the bar the rooms are quiet and cosy. Only downside for us was no food available. This meant a short walk down the road to a good choice of cafes and restaurants.

My boyfriend and I went to stay at the OYO as we were in Bristol for a friends birthday. Arrived at 1pm but unable to check in til 2 even though our names were not taken. Came back at 2 and were told we had to have to twin room instead of the double deluxe due to a lot of the rooms being closed because of bed bugs. When asked if our room had any we were assured it didn’t but of course checked for ourselves when we got to the room. The room itself was worn and tired with a dead fly on the window and bed bugs all over the mattress. We asked for a refund which booking.com managed for us and went to stay at another hotel. Suggest the whole hotel is fumigated and cleaned!
