Akropolis Guest House is located in the historical, old part of the city where the major attractions are very close. It's on the way of Redhall-Bazelika and Akropolis. Just 250 mt after Bazelika. And everybody know where Bazelika is if you ask in Bergama....You will feel the blend of uncountable cultures from the terrace. One silent location sarrounded narrow streets with old houses which they reflects the face of pergamum stories.
The proprietress made our stay here wonderful. She was welcoming and happy. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. It is not a high end hotel but very comfortable. The breakfast was typical Turkish: tomato, cucumber, cheese, bread and condiments. The home made condiments made it special. We will return here next time we are in the area. Good value for money.

It’s not luxurious, but it is a decent midrange choice in the centre of town. Our rooms were on the 4th floor (there is an elevator) and were generally quiet. They offered reasonable comfort and were fairly spacious. The shower was a capsule type and so there was a big step down to the bathroom floor. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was generous, without reaching any great heights. The wifi signal was consistent, but weak, even though the modem was right outside the room. I would stay there again.

Boutique Hotel with 6 rooms in the centre of historical part of Bergama. A stone house with a beautiful and colorful garden and a terrace with Red Basilica view.
Both Atabey and his wife are good host and owners of the hotel, welcoming all their guests and very social. I got a chance to stay in three different rooms and with three different experiences. Location wise is fine: very close to Acropolis' Telefrik, a step away from Red Basilica, minutes walk to city center and Bergama Museum. Sufficient Turkish breakfast to start the day. I like its wood ceiling and it is beautiful. As of the hotel, I think many improvements need to be done such as to fix the toilet flush, to make sure there is no water leaking either from the ceiling or from the pipe under the floor, in summer time to spray the rooms so no mosquitoes or insects disturbing night sleep, lastly perhaps to consider proper and deep cleaning of the rooms especially after the previous guest left ... it is important especially we are in global pandemic. Sincerely I didn't really enjoy while staying in this hotel but hope they will make some improvement especially related to the good cleanliness and security of hotel compound condition.

There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular ancient ruins such as The Acropolis, Ruins of Pergamum, and The Asklepion. Enjoy your stay in Bergama!
I stayed at the Elaia Hotel in Bergama in order to visit the local attractions: Ancient Pergamon (Akropolis), the Askleipion, and the Red Basilica. The owner, whose name I can't remember anymore, was very friendly and accommodating, and offered very good advice. He offered to allow me to check in early that day (although I didn't end up making it early, due to my touring schedule), which I appreciate. He also sent me a warning to avoid certain driving routes to get to the hotel and to the Akropolis due to the danger involved, but alas, I got that message too late, though, and did experience some problems earlier in the day, but that's irrelevant. It was nice of the owner to make the effort! The hotel itself is very nicely decorated, with plants and flowers hung about. It's very cozy, and is close to the town center, allowing easy access to local goods and services. Since I stayed only one night, and had to leave early the next morning to get on my way, I didn't have the breakfast, so I can't speak to the quality of breakfast at Elaia Hotel. My room itself at Elaia Hotel was quite basic, but very clean. There were towels provided, as well as heavy blankets and an air conditioner (it was quite hot that day, actually). No complaints. The one issue I had with Elaia Hotel was quite severe in my opinion, and pretty much ruined my stay: the shower. I noticed a rather conspicuous gap between the shower stall wall and the base, which made me apprehensive above showering, but I had to shower, right? So I started my shower, and after around 2 minutes of using the shower, I stepped outside to investigate if the aforementioned gap was a problem, and sure enough, it was a huge problem. Water was leaking out of my shower, and running onto the bathroom floor, unobstructed. Seeing what was going on, I was forced to hurry my shower, as well as shut the water off in order to lather up my soap and shampoo. Needless to say, this made my shower very unpleasant and cold, as well as very tedious. Then, after I was done, I had to spend around 30 minutes wiping the water from the floor and wringing the towel, when I needed to get to sleep ASAP instead, in order to get on my way the next day. That all made me quite upset, but the worst part was that, when I immediately reported the matter to the owner, he actually told me that he had already known following the stay of the previous room guests... but didn't tell me! He then apologized several times, but the damage was done; I had lost valuable time. Really, I didn't travel all the way to Turkey to clean bathroom floors of overflow shower water. This is not good business, sorry.

This might not be the best hotel in Bergama but we found it handy, convenient and pretty good, although some parts of the building are a little bit old and tired (like the stairs - but fortunately there is a good working lift). The staff we met was very nice, helpful and friendly, both the man that does the night shift as well as the Macedonian lady that does the day shift (plus the man that fixed our shower head just five minutes after reporting the problem to the front desk). We had room #306, which is long and large. It actually has a single bed, a double bed, a table, two chairs, a desk, a small refrigerator, a wardrobe, Air Conditioning and a heater. The beds were comfortable as well as the pillows, but the bed sheet was a little bit strange, as it looked more like a bedspread than like a thin bed sheet (we found the same type of "bed sheet" in other hotels around Turkey). On the other hand, it is true that the furniture, the lamps and the switches were somehow old. The clean ensuite bathroom was the best part of the room, as it was completely new and very spacious. The shower was like a science-fiction shower (with buttons and colour lights), hot water run very well and the towels were good and pleasant. Wifi worked very well both in the room, in the reception area and in the attached breakfast room. By the way, the breakfast was a buffet with just cold dishes (no hot options :-(), so it didn't impress us. In terms of food, there are several dining places along the hotel's street like the restaurant attached to it. However, we have to say that we didn't like it so much, so we are recommending others you can find on the way to the old town. Actually, if you walk from the hotel to the old town along the same sidewalk, you should find some good and popular Turkish restaurants after 200 meters, more or less (they are found just before a good patisserie). And yes, this hotel is far away from the old town and the Akropolis. Therefore, it is wise to take a local bus, which costs 3 TL and takes you to the old town, the Red Basilica and a crossing from where the lower station of the cable car (to reach the Akropolis) is just a 5 or 10 minutes walk. This is what we did, but then, on our way back to the hotel, we walked down from the Akropolis and through the old town, a very nice and pleasant stroll (and then, if the hotel's roof pool is open, it is the perfect ending for the day). On the other hand, this hotel is convenient if you are arriving in (or leaving) Bergama by bus (there are a couple of bus offices just 50 meters away). Have a good journey!

If you want to stay in the middle of the interesting old town, very central but very quiet street,Pension Athena is option for guests. This over a century-old, Ottoman house is located next to Bergama (Gallinos) river (just next to the Roman Bridge). Wifi internet, secure indoor car parking.
After a tiring ride over there, we were most pleased of the very comfortable bed and wooden-style room interior. The internet was very good, and the room was clean. In the morning we enjoyed sitting in the yard and watching the local cats be chased around by chicken and vice versa. The hotel owner is a friendly chap and his relaxed way of serving breakfast gave us a cosy feeling.
