We are a small hotel near the center and the intrance of Bajawa, with only six rooms available. A Dutch family from Ameland the Netherlands runs the hotel. After travelled across Flores about 10 times. Our purpose is to give you a warm feeling the time you are staying with us and also to provide the service you require. Our manager and guide is Alfons. He has been guide for many years. He can arrange transport and trips for you. The breakfast we serve is unique for this part of Flores. Homemade bread, juice, fruits and an excellent pot of coffee or tea. It keeps you going for most of the day
The rooms aren’t that big, but they are clean. There is a safe. Common areas are pleasant. Breakfast was rather disappointing with unripe fruit and noodles fried with no vegetables or sambal. It was a noisy during traffic times and there was a light on in the common area which kept waking me up. It was fine for us.

Pak Johannes runs a lovely, clean guesthouse in Bajawa. It is centrally located and very comfortable for the price. But the best part is Pak Yohannes himself, he is a kind man who is genuinely interested in helping you have a good time. He can give excellent advice or help you find a good guide to explore the surrounding area and his banana pancakes are one of the best breakfasts you will find anywhere in Flores. Go ahead and do yourself a favor and book the slightly nicer rooms with the private bathroom & hot water shower it's well worth the extra couple of dollars. I had booked the cheaper room not really understanding the difference and when I showed up with my wife and 2 year old he took a quick look at us and upgraded us to the nicer room for free since we were the only guests that night (December 2020 during the Pandemic) and he felt it would be better for my family. In fact he said he actually opened the guesthouse just for us that day since there were no other guests. That's the kind of excellent man he is. Do yourself a favor a book a room at the cinnamon guesthouse if you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Bajawa. Kindness and hospitality are priceless and they make the entire experience better.

Recomendable.

We stayed at Del Mar for 2 nights. It is a very nice and clean hotel, with spacious rooms and a beautiful garden. The people owning the place take very good care of you. If you want to have dinner, you have to let them know in advance and they can make whatever you like. Definitely recommend this place!

We are a local family with 3 double / twin rooms in a quiet part of Bajawa, near restaurants, 8 minutes walk to the market and banks. We have warm blankets, simple Indonesian style shared bathroom with cold water shower / mandi and western toilet, free drinking water. Coffee, tea, pancakes and lots of fruit for breakfast, snacks and cold beer, dinner on request, motorcycle rental, guide for daytrips and trekking, help with tickets, laundry, and wifi. Guests may smoke in the living room but not in the bedrooms. We are a simple home and please do not expect any luxury. When Marselino is away with groups, his wife Emilia manages the guesthouse. If you would like to arrange local trips, you need to contact Marselino by email in advance to make sure he is available. It has come to our attention that local guys are posing as Marselino and try to take people to their own homes with different services. Please check contact details and photos carefully to avoid ending up with a fake Marselino.
We got a room in another building across the street which was small and had no sockets. Our bathroom was located outside in yet another building and it consisted of a nonfunctional shower and a toilet without flushing. There was neither a mirror nor a sink. Breakfast was okay although not as good as other reviews claim.

Everything was great about this hotel except its next to a small prison, so occasionally some terrible patriotic type music would blare out of loudspeakers, but it wasn't really a problem. The staff were friendly and great, but the only thing lacking was a total lack of local or travel information. This was compounded by the fact the Tourism office was not only closed, but in typical Indonesian style, did not state it was closed, did not say when it would reopen, and did not have an information board with relevant information such as how to book a Guning Mas bus.

Avoid it at all costs. This place is filthy. The accomodation in Bajawa is not the best offering but this place is dire. We arrived tired after a 6 hour motorbike ride so didn't look too closely when we arranged to stay. When we got back after dinner we realised the whole place smelled of wet dog, the toilet didn't work, the bum gun didn't work, the basin didn't work, the 'bathroom' door was broken. The room had not been cleaned, there was mold on the walls and the bedding smelled musty and damp. It was so bad that we didn't shower and we slept in our clothes because the bathroom was filthy and the bed didn't look clean either. In the morning we were offered breakfast which we declined on grounds of hygene (the kitchen was dirty too). We rode on to Manalalu which was lovely.
