We truly enjoyed our stay. Nicky and Mark always made sure that everything was alright and we were not lacking of anything. My request for a vegan option for breakfast was fulfilled, which was wonderful (and thoughtful - e.g. no egg for me ;)). On arrival, I instantly felt at home. There is something at this place that makes you feel cozy and safe. I recommend the Landhaus Fay to anyone who enjoys a rural place with pitch black skies at peaceful nights. I am convinced I will come again.

The sauna here is top notch. The sauna masters are very lovely and helpful, and speak German, English and multiple other languages. There are many different saunas with different temperatures (30 degrees to 90 degrees Celsius), environments and scheduled “activities” for lack of a better word. For example, there is a 20 min 50-70 degrees Celsius sauna which gradually heats up, followed by standing in the cold winter air and drinking punch, or lathering yourselves with a cold mountain pine cream, followed by 10 minutes of the sauna at 80-90 degrees led by the sauna master. It is a nude sauna so come prepared. The clientele is typically over 60yo, but I’d recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately you have to buy the sauna in combination with the “spa”, which is a complex of warm indoor and outdoor pools (very family friendly but not any different from a public pool). All together it is €27.50 for both. The spa alone is €20 for 4 hours, the sauna is an extra €7.50 for an all day pass. Ignore the spa completely and go straight to the sauna. Also remember to bring your own towel or cop a €7 rental fee, and your own thongs/sandals. The sauna closes at 12am midnight on weekdays.

We stayed for 4 nights and we´re very satisfied. Pension has a really good location, perfect for bike trips, located just by the Katrin Cable car, so you can easily get up to the mountain and enjoy the views. It´s a nice walk by the river to the center (about 15 minutes). Rooms are modern with a comfortable bed, clean (towels changed every day) and quiet, each of them has own balcony where you can sit and relax. There is also a clotheshorse. Wifi at the room works well and parking isn´t a problem as the Pension has parking spots just ahead. The owners are very nice and helpful, they advised us on Covid testing in Bad Ischl. They prepared delicious breakfasts, we appreciate wide choice and vegetable. They´re friendly and they´ll do everything to make you feel good at their Pension.

Bed & Breakfast and a little bit more, in the middle of the Austrian Salzkammergut, between mountains, forests and lakes, just 4km from the town center of Bad Ischl and 45 km from the historic city of Salzburg - your home away from home!

Found this excellent restaurant by chance, right on the main road from Hallstat to Snt Gilgen. The food was excellent.. traditional Austrian food with very fresh ingredients and very big portions. We had soups , fish, steak with delicious vegetables . Lovely dessert too - traditional pancake with stewed plums. Enormous portion. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Highly recommended!

We came to the Goodrooms Aparthotel for one night, with the intention of getting up early to hit the sled slopes. Sadly, in the middle of the night we all came down with the flu, and were too sick to make it happen. We thought we would just rest until noon, check out and be on our way to the next destination. At 11:20am, the hotel owner called and was really angry, telling me that we were supposed to leave by 10 am. I apologized over and over, trying to explain that we had all gotten really sick the night before, and that we would pack up and leave immediately. 15 minutes later we went down to the car, where the hotel owner was waiting for us. He was extremely angry, and kept repeating “this is very bad”. I kept apologizing, and telling him that I thought checkout time was noon, and trying to tell him that we are very, very sick. He slapped a post it note on our car window that he had scribbled 40 € on. My husband asked him why didn’t he call us at 10 if we were supposed to be out, and the owner just got really belligerent and started screaming at us, cursing and spitting. My son then started to vomit in the parking lot, and the owner lighted another cigarette and walked away. When I looked up at him, he pointed to my son and then circled his finger around his forehead, as if to say he was not right. I told my husband to pay him, because I wasn’t sure if we were in the wrong and I just wanted to leave peacefully. Got my husband and child in the car, and I walked over to the owner to nicely tell him to enjoy reading the reviews I was going to write on social media, and his eyes got really big and he handed me back the extra money we had paid him. I wrestled with the decision about putting this review on line, but decided it was the right thing to do based on my gut instinct. The whole time this incident was happening with the hotel host, I had a horrible feeling about this man, and I just kept trying to be very calm, and get out of there because I didn’t feel safe.
