After a long day on the motorcycle I was glad to come across this hotel. The manager / owner (?) was pleasant - somewhat jocular. The room was nothing special but the owner, without being asked, did give me a room over-looking the area where my bike was parked. That wasn't necessary but he thought I would want that. He was patient as I practiced my limited French with him. The meal, served on an outdoor patio, was quite good and the wine was more than acceptable. It was nice and quiet & the guests all stayed on the patio for a long while. A very relaxing place. As I usually don't eat breakfast I can't comment on that meal.

Highly recommended! The staff were always friendly and welcoming. Meals were very good, prepared by their great in-house chef. The rooms were nice and modern, if a bit on the small side. An easy, pleasant walk to the Mazeres town center along the lovely L'Hers river.

We were in a nice large space on the top floor with our own bathroom which was great. It was very hot out so it was hot inside (though that’s the fault of no one but nature). If you are looking for unique accommodation and are not focused on amenities, this is the place for you.

Motor biking through the Pyrenees we chanced on this great place. Lovely old French house really nicely decorated run by a really lovely English couple. Fantastic dinner with veg from the family garden and homemade meringue and ice cream but you MUST ask for their special breakfast which is a big bowl of delicious hot chocolate with two huge buttery croissants floating in it. YUMMMMY

Located just outside the village of La Bastide de Serou along the road linking Foix and St Girons, the hotel-restaurant La Tour du Loup est ideally situated for exploring the numerous tourist sites of Ariege: prehistoric caves, chateaux, the underground river, panoramic mountain roads, or to enjoy the different mountain sports on offer in the immediate vicinity. Open all year
Sept 2013 Crossing the Pyrenees having stayed on the Costa Brava last night we needed a bed for the night. Just past Foix we pulled in here and had decent prix fixe dinner and comfortable rest. This remains at this point the only place I have stayed that had one of those big square shower heads that lit up in different funky disco colors while one showered. Memorable. The eponymous "tour" would seem to be a partly ruined castle behind the inn on the hillside at some distance. Not much happening here as it was well past summer vacation time. The pool behind the inn was partly covered - no more swimming til next summer. Fun to see the cattle everywhere in the fields. Careful, though as drivers are moving at speed on the road from Foix to Tarbes...

Nestled in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees regional natural park, Domaine de Terrac provides a high quality bed and breakfast environment. The property offers views of the Pyrenees to the South and undulating hills to the North. We offer five individual rooms all en-suite and amenities normally only found at the top of the quality hotels. Further facilities include a guest table in the evenings (all local ingredients), large living room, DVD & books library, fabulous belvedere terraces and a large rose garden filled with ponds and private areas. Our new wood fired sauna and jacuzzi may be followed by a variety of treatments of message which gives the possibility for a real relaxation
We rented/ hired ebikes in Foix and biked along the Voie Verte to Saint Girons. For the return trip we booked a night at Domaine Terrac and it was the most relaxing stay of our 2-week vacation. The property is extremely well appointed and you can tell they sparred no expense turning the place in to a 5-star B&B. Barry and Jocelyn treated us like family when we arrived. We opted for the 3 course dinner which was one of the best of our trip. They offered winery direct wines at a fair price as well as some delicious craft beers. We also chose the sauna option which was great after a long day of biking. Overall an 11/10 stay. Thanks Barry and Jocelyn! We will be sending friends your way!

Auberge les Myrtilles is a little hotel located in a very small village in the middle of the mountains of the French Pyrenees. We offer you 8 double rooms all with their own bathroom. We also offer you a nice and sunny terrace with a splendid mountain view. Every evening a menu of three courses.
I returned to Les Myrtilles for my third visit, being my second with my wife after discovering the auberge in 2015 with a walking group. Each time the friendliness of Anouk and René has been particularly noteworthy. As on previous occasions, our room was clean, airy and sufficiently spacious. The shower provided copious quantities of hot water. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate. Evening meals had variety, were well prepared and served and were just what was needed after a day walking. The surrounding countryside is magnificent, offering a wide variety of hiking and walks to satisfy all levels - obviously providing you are ready to do some uphill sections! We revisited Port d’Aula and Cascades d’Ars and discoved the enchanting Cirque de Cagateille. Our hosts were most understanding when I had to phone to say we would be late for diner - even when the faulty planning was clearly mine! Care and attention to the requirements of the CoVid epidemic were strictly adhered to and we felt perfectly at ease. We can thoroughly recommend the auberge! Views in perfect weather from above the Cascade d’Ars.

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel to ski in Ax. A lovely, welcoming family run hotel which by the looks of it has recently been renovated. Our room for 5 people was very clean and just right for our needs. There is a lovely little bar and one can eat in the restaurant.

Gites et chambres d’hôtes de charmes. Un havre de paix au cœur des Pyrénées Ariégeoises pour se ressourcer
This family run B&B makes a point of being welcoming and genuinely interested in your trip plans to help out. Ignore your GPS and simplly exit right at the end of the N20 opposite direction Tarascon. The Domaine's driveway is just a 100 m from that on the left. Once you arrive, everything you need is cheerfully attended to. The redecorated rooms are spotless and quiet, birdsong abounds, breakfasts are thoughtfully prepared, with housemade brioche and yoghurt, very special croissants and bread...Frederic and Isabelle carry the torch of an ancient historical home with pride. This is a great base for many touristic destinations and a spa is in its future plans to compliment its indoor pool for rainy days. Oh and dinner was over the top fantastic! Duck and asparagus salad, beef bourguignon potato strata with veg, cheese board, pie, aperitif, wine, and tea. Unbeatable value. Can't waiit to return.
