In September 2018, I stayed a total nights in this small and efficiently run hotel, between private trips north and south of the Amazon River. I had a variety of four rooms, each of them relatively similar, but with minor differences in regard to furniture: Ac, television, a fridge, double bed and hot water showers. There were occasional problems with net television, but the staff fixed them swiftly. The taps of the bathroom were invariably leaking, but not noisily. Breakfast was included in the basic room rate, but was served too late in the morning (7-9) for me. I was nevertheless able to have it twice, and was very happy with the quality and assortment. On weekdays, a simple but tasty and filling dinner is also included, 19-20, but I found this out too late (had the meal only once), as a result of language problems. The English-speaking receptionist is in the night shift and the rest speak only Portuguese. They are all very helpful and we frequently discussed by Google Translate, but misunderstandings did nevertheless occur. The manager appeared to be fluent in English, too, but he was not really there for the customers, unlike his staff. My first nights were booked by Booking.com and were not only more expensive but also did not include the meals. It therefore pays to reserve directly, at [email protected]. In September 2018, the rate for a good double was around R140 per night. A suite was less than R20 more expensive. During the weekends, the place may be fully booked. There was secure parking (included in the room rate) for us car-renting customers. It was about 10 minutes to Carrefour, via narrow residential streets, and two minutes to the nearest PetroBras, car wash and pizza joint, along Avenida Nilton Lins. The distance to the airport is also short, but driving to the hotel involves a risky U-turn junction (actually, three alternative options), which needs to be studied beforehand (see Street View). The nights were very peaceful at Talissa II, by Brazilian standards. Expect some noise in the general neighborhood during the weekends, albeit not right next to the hotel. As far as I am able to judge, Talissa II is the best choice close to the Manaus Airport. A taxi costs R65 one way (fixed rate).

Located a few steps from Teatro Amazonas, Hotel Seringal is really a convenient hotel to stay in Manaus. Rooms are quite large, equipped and comfy but a bit outdated. Some of them provides just an window to the corridor. Those facing the street may be a bit noisy during the day but as soon as the movement ceases the room stay quite and tranquil. A small fridge is available in the room but you need to bring beers and sodas. They can be bought on the lobby hall. Wifi is provided although signal may be weak depending on the room you stay at. Great buffet-style breakfast in which you can savour local specialties. They also serve an afternoon tea that is basically the same sort of items from the breakfast. Staff is nice, friendly and very attentive. You pay the whole bill on checking in. The area nearby at night demands attention. So be alert after dusk.

Somos um hotel de selva familiar na Floresta Amazônica, localizado a 2 horas de Manaus. Oferecemos um ambiente charmoso e vibrante em meio à natureza exuberante da Floresta e imerso na cultura do nosso povo ribeirinho.
Sustainable community-based tourism at its best. A must stay place for any foodie! Incredible regional food (excellent fish and juices) for every meal. Pretty lodges with a refreshing pool and hammocks. Our guide Gabriel was exceptional (also the only English speaker). We were lucky with wildlife (sloths, monkeys, pink dolphins, toucans, kingfishers, caiman, otters and more). The tour also included enriching workshops led by locals. We felt very at home for our week’s stay. It was a very special experience.

Hotel breakfast had unfresh ham, my friend and I got food poisoning that destroyed a week of our trip! Though the staff was nice nothing explains this! Also - the wifi is horribly bad, waiting 1h to load youtube video? Horrible!

Located in Manaus city, capital of Amazonas state, north region of Brazil, this hostel offers 10 comfortable and well furnished suites with separate entrances, a relaxing area with terrace, gardens and a wonderful crystal blue pool. It is located in the Parque Dez neighborhood, centralized area that allows you to reach in just 15 minutes downtown City, the Eduardo Gomes International Airport and Industrial District area.
A piscina é linda e é mantida limpa.

We stayed in a beautiful house, run as a pousada (lodge) in Manaus by a professional Irish guide. He showed us around most of the wonderful sights on and near the River Amazon, which is 6400km long and holds 20% of the world's fresh water. It 's width surprised us, 10 to 14km wide in many stretches upstream. Manaus has only one road out, and that is north for 800km to Boa Vista on the Venezuela border. The rest of Brazil cannot be reached by road, so most travel is by water. Our guide showed us how he got his boat down from one of the upper floors in one of the many multi-storey marinas which house thousands of boats. He took us up both the Negro and Solimoes rivers, which together form the Amazon, and for lunches at another pousada and a restaurant on the river banks. Of particular note in Manaus itself is the beautiful Opera House, built for the wealthy rubber barons by their slaves, and the rubber museum, reached only by boat, which perpetuates this era. He drove us for a two night stay at Presidente Figueiredo, 110km north, and we stayed at the Pousada da Jiboia (a boa constrictor snake). A wonderful experience, resting, and looking at caves dotted among over 100 waterfalls in the jungle. We walked through many jungle tracks and saw sights unlike anywhere else, native statues in colourful plazas, 3-toed sloths, capybaras, and caymans and large pink dolphins, and monkeys jumping around in the trees. The hotel has clean but simple rooms surrounding a tiled courtyard with a small swimming pool and interesting carvings of primitive animals. We had our meals over the road in a cafe where the food was local but pleasant, and drinks were cheap both at the hotel and cafe. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an exciting trip to one of the least explored areas on the planet.
