The Inn at 161 -- Modern-Day Lodging with Gold Country Charm! The Inn was recently purchased from Roger and Sue Garlick, the longtime owners of the (then) Grey Gables Bed and Breakfast. After many decades of welcoming thousands into their home, they have decided to retire. We wish them a healthy and enjoyable retirement. As the new owners, Scott and Chris Pinheiro, along with family member, Kerry Alvernaz, we have begun placing our personal touches on the Inn. We have been actively working to update the Charming English Bed and Breakfast into Sutter Creek's newest present-day, Boutique Inn. Rest assured, although the Garlicks have retired, the sparkling clean rooms, hospitable service and delightful amenities will all remain. Although there will be many changes yet to come, for those who are returning, we look forward to welcoming you back to Sutter Creek and to our newly transformed Inn. For those who are first timers, we are encouraged you decided to stay with us and can't wait to share our Inn with you.
Mary greeted us and Kerry served breakfast. Both were very nice and welcoming. It was the best continental breakfast. Yogurt parfait, hard boiled eggs, homemade coffee cake, fruit and cappuccinos. Very satisfying. I was only disappointed in the room itself which felt like a standard motel room given the B&B looked so nice from the outside.

My company stayed at Rest for a small staff retreat and it did not disappoint! It was perfectly cozy and inviting for our group of seven. The staff was wonderful and prepared for our every need, from the delicious meals all the way to our in-room conference/meeting. The staff was never too far away and always there to address our needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. Tracey went out of her way to find evening options for our party, with a wine blending class at Fate Wines and then dinner at Taste Restaurant. Both were amazing and the proprietors really made our group feel special. Every part of the experience turned out great and I would not hesitate to return.

The motel is located very near the town of Plymouth and the Amador County wine area. It is very clean and the main room and bathroom were quite large and comfortable. The area is rural and very quiet and the hotel is located on a hill above the main road. The parking lot is large and can accommodate large vehicles.

The property features ten tastefully decorated air conditioned guest rooms, all with full private baths, robes, telephone, cable television, fireplaces, homemade breakfast and more.
Our first visit to HH will not be our last for sure! From getting information before the trip to checkin and then checkout/tour of rooms and cottages our stay was wonderful. The staff was outstanding and the room and food top notch. All the amenities we needed in the room were great and waking up to a fresh warm scone followed by breakfast delivered to room was a great way to start our short stay for two mornings. The heated floors in the bathroom was an added bonus that wont be forgotten soon. Looking forward to our next trip and planning ahead to get one of the cottage rooms for our next stay!

Welcome to the Volcano Union Inn!How The West Was Won Fun!Take the WILD RIDE to Volcano to enjoy great food, friendly faces and comfortable lodgingThe Union Inn Hotel was built in 1880 by four itinerate French Canadians for $400. It was a boarding house for hard-working miners and locals until the 1920's. It enjoyed a brief reawakening in the 1950's, and thereafter it was, by turns, vacant and empty, a private residence, and finally it was restored into a lovely destination in 2000 by the David/Burney Family. Now the Volcano Union Inn is reborn as a California Pub and Four-Room Bed and Breakfast in the picturesque village of Volcano, deep in the heart of Amador County and the California Gold Country.
If you are traveling through California gold country, you must stop at the Volcano Union Inn and Pub. The town of Volcano itself is a hidden gem, and the Inn and Pub is a great place to stop and have a great meal and stay the night of you wish. The hospitality here is second to none. And the food is amazing. They serve local wine and beer from the best offerings in the area. And if you need to stay the night, no problem. They have 4 historic rooms that have been tastefully appointed. Two with a large shared balcony out front. We recently had a family reunion there and rented all four rooms. It was great being the only ones there after hours. This allowed us to play tabletop shuffleboard until 3am! Another nice feature is they offer free breakfast. Not just pastries and coffee, but a full breakfast. Amazing! Do yourself a favor and check this place out. It is California history at it’s best!

The Grand Reserve Inn is a luxury bed and breakfast inspired by the elegance of Tuscany, situated on 40 acres of vineyards in the scenic Sierra Foothills of Amador Wine Country. Our guests enjoy evening fire-pits, wine & cheese social and full gourmet breakfasts along with wine tasting at Wilderotter Vineyard. Outdoor recreation surrounds us in Plymouth, Amador City and Sutter Creek. Grand Reserve Inn is available for whole-property rentals as well as individual night stays in any of our well appointed suites. Whether for a private celebration, corporate/executive retreat, or family gathering, you and your guests will have exclusive access to this incomparable property.
Years ago when we started going to luxury inns, boutique hotels, B&B's, we loved all the special touches and then over the years, many places cut back and don't do them. The Grand Reserve has all those touches and I am convinced the manager or owner has stayed overnight in the rooms to be sure they thought of everything eg. a nightlight in the dark hall. Revel and team are gracious and accommodating. Breakfast is special. The first morning, the two couples we sat with were super friendly and we shared winery tips. If you are shy, you can always eat outside and not at the shared table which the second day, two couples did. The challenge with such a beautiful property, which is even more scenic than the photos if you can imagine, is that we stayed there more than planned. We had the Tuscany Suite and wanted that room because we wanted the patio which we used to have coffee in the morning, to watching the stars later at night. I checked out the other rooms, each room, is special and there is plenty of shared outdoor space to relax and enjoy vineyard views. Other guests we met loved their loved rooms, Bordeaux & Rhone. We took a 4 mile walk from the property. It is along a road, and earlier in the day to take a walk worked out for us. Yes, we will be back and since it's such a gem, as word gets out, I hope there will be availability.

What a perfect weekend. We wanted to combine a BBQ event with a milestone birthday and needed several rooms. Arianna was so helpful with suggestions and upon arrival it could not have been more perfect. Jay and Thomas checked on our group should we need anything. The property is perfect for a gathering as well as an intimate getaway. The location is ideal for exploring the adorable town. Thank you Michel family for a memorable weekend. Can’t wait to return.

Located in Amador County California's Shenandoah Valley, an area known for outstanding wines, our Bed & Breakfast sits on 40 acres nestled among grape vines, next door to Deaver Vineyards' tasting room, and on an expansive lawn and picnic area beside a lake. Our back porch is the place to be in the evening, sipping local wine, nibbling tasty treats prepared by our innkeeper Tara, and watching the sunset while local wildlife settles for the night. We have four rooms all with private baths, and our living areas allow for quiet contemplation or lively conversation. When you stay at Amador Harvest Inn you're within walking distance to several wineries, close driving distance to lots more, and Amador County offers so much more: charming Gold Rush towns, antique hunting, fine dining, breweries, shopping, skiing, hiking, gorgeous wildflower displays, and our family's daylily farm; Amador Flower Farm (open to the public) is nearby too.
This was our third visit to this inn and a fourth visit to the region. Ginger was our innkeep on this trip and she was great. Such attention to detail and wonderful food. Ginger is kindness itself. The whole visit was exceptional. Besides the lovely inn, there is always interesting wildlife. One year it was ducklings, one year it was killdeer, this year a pair of otters, and always a long list of birds. This is the center of the motherlode country wine region, and there are many small gems of wineries to visit--too many for a single visit so you must return. This is a simple, rural area of great beauty.

Vicki, the beautiful host at Inn behind the Wall, is a saint! Her place is beautiful and so clean! The rooms are comfortable with high quality linen and towels and the Inn itself is so gorgeous. The history of the Inn is very interesting in itself with the inside of the house being very unique. The grounds have many fruit trees and lead to wonderings that are lovely for anyone. The outdoor pool is so refreshing when the hot California sun gets too much. We had a yoga retreat that was so memorable that we hope to make it an annual event!

Nine Gables Winery and B&B is a family owned and operated winery, which began in 1998.
We had wonderful stay at the Nine Gables Bed Breakfast. We started with tasting wine in tasting room and selected a bottle to take up to our room above tasting room in the Barbera room. The room is beautiful and has a great view of vineyards. In the morning we walked around the property and got a tour by Pam the owner of the sheep, goats and chickens. We had breakfast each morning in the house in dining room. Breakfast was great with the fresh eggs of course. At 5:30 each day Pam delivered an delicious appetizer tray to our room. The room has everything you could want (frig, microwave, flat screen, coffee maker, etc). This is a great place to stay while visiting all the wineries in the area. It is quiet and peaceful away from road.
