I’ve lived in this town for almost 2 years, as I am studying at the university. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, I hadn’t seen my family since I came here. My mom finally managed to book some time off and was coming . After looking around town for a place to stay we came across Maes Y Mor. We were surprised by the excellent price-quality ratio it offered and decided to book it. The lady who runs it is very professional and extremely politely. She explained the check in and check out rules and left our keys in an envelope by the reception for us. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They came with toiletries, fresh towels, enough toilet roll and coffee/tea stuff. They even have a kettle that you can use for a quick brew. The beds were very comfortable too and it’s so easy to sleep in them. My mom isn’t used to cold weather at all but all the rooms have heating that works which was a big plus as it made her stay comfortable. They made sure we always had clean towels and breakfast stuff. Felt very welcome and safe during our stay there. The location of the hotel is ideal as it is literally a stone’s throw from the beach and close to everything (cafes, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, banks, etc). I strongly recommend them to anybody looking to spend a few nights in Aberystwyth. You will not be disappointed! All the staff were very polite and they even went out of their way to help my mom with moving her luggage. They made our stay memorable and she’s definitely coming back when she visits me again ☺️ Diolch yn fawr!!

Arrived at the ‘to be seated’ area. To see the staff members are all back and forth, no one taking notice. A few mins later a staff member came over and told us to sit in the non restaurant area where you order at the bar. Which we were fine with. Ordered some drinks before thinking about food Then ordered two starters and two mains. Just shy of £36 25 mins later ordered another round of drinks After one hour of ordering the food I went up to order another drink and ask what happens to the food. The guy responded, you’ve had your starter haven’t yo? We’ve not have anything yet! He apologised. The lady that took the order came over and it seem to me they hadn’t actually put the order though. Sat back down then the same lady came over and said she will bring the starters and mains together. We, no thanks. I’d still rather have separate. So we waiting 5 minutes for the guy to bring out our mains! Hadn’t even seen the starters at this point. I said to him we hadn’t had starters and he said he’d bring them out now. No thanks don’t fancy chicken wings with a curry. We ate the main. But the whole experience put a downer on the visit. To be fair. They did refund the meals (although we didn’t even see the starters). The food tasted ok. The pie my wife had was nice. It’s a pity the service was so terrible. To top it, when we arrived there was a table near us with dirty glasses and plates. 1hr 45m later they were still there along with three other tables full of glasses and plates around us with no one clearing. Staff members were coming and going taking food out but no one seem to worry about clearing tables. Summary. Food was good, could be nice if they improved service. Wasn’t even busy

Myself and my partner visited Cardigan Bay Guest House for the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday and we were quite impressed! Firstly, the price was phenomenal. After looking at the other guest houses & hotels along the promenade, this was by far the best value for money. We paid £150.00 for two nights, and considering this was on a bank holiday, we couldn't complain. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who checked us in, sorted payment and then directed us to the room. Although the reception isn't 24 hour, staff still live on site over night and the building can only be accessed by a keypad at night time. We booked a fmily room - this was mainly due to us preferring an en-suite. This room had a double bed, single bed, TV, tea & coffee set up and a fantastic view of the sea front. The room was a tiny bit dated, with the wallpaper needing some love and a dust wouldn't be too bad, however it was clean, safe and for the most part quiet. We only had one issue on our second night: which was "loud" guests. This wasn't the hotels fault of course, and they supplied us with an emergency number that we contacted on the night and they fixed the issue right away. However, to this day we are unsure as to whether the noise was other guests or the staff that live onsite on the top floor. My only other complaint was lack of breakfast.

Llwynygog is a pet friendly 3-star guest house in a lovely part of Aberystwyth, just 2 minutes' walk from the beach and the many amenities of the town centre. The railway and coach stations are just a 5-minute walk away. Shops, clubs, supermarkets, pubs and a cinema are all within walking distance All rooms have central heating, Freeview, tea/coffee facilities and wi fi access. En suite and standard rooms are available. Llwynygog welcome families, singles, couples, pets and group bookings. It is set over 2 buildings opposit each other the annex has family rooms available on request , there is parking close by .
We were told that we would stay in the annex along the road that was part of the same hotel. Not a problem but the atmosphere did not feel nice and we did not feel particularly welcome as paying customers. Breakfast was nice but I felt staff lacked professionalism. We had a room with a separate toilet, it wasn’t great walking across creaky floorboards at nighttime in my dressing gown as a young woman! Nothing wrong with the room really but the entire place felt like it needed re doing as it was the opposite of modern. Wouldn’t stay here again

I recently spent the night here on an impromptu visit for the bank holiday. The room was fantastic value for money with lots of little touches including filter coffee, tea making facilities, access to a clean and spacious kitchen and toiletries. The room was basic but I expected this for the price and I still had a great sleep. The location was fantastic right on the beach with spectacular views. Whilst there was no parking, a public car park behind was reasonable at less than 5 pounds for 24 hours. I would recommend this b and b especially to those on a budget. The cleanliness was really really good.

We have just got back from an amazing long weekend break at Llety Ceiro. We hired the whole of the guest house as there was 18 of us and it was fabulous. All of the facilities where pristine and well kept , with everything you would need for a relaxing break away at hand. The bedrooms cater for every eventuality and the childrens play area outside provided our kids with lots of outdoor fun. We decided we weren’t cooking much this weekend so made use of the local chippy which is down the road, ordered via just eat from an Indian takeaway and also called an order in to a local Chinese. We did however use the commercial standard kitchen for breakfasts and it had everything you would need and more for cooking! There is a pub at the end of the lane that some of our party went to for a pint which was lovely and we also went to the Welsh Black Inn for Sunday lunch which was delicious. From our base at Llety Ceiro we were near Aberystwyth and Borth which we went to, to have walk and a look around. Fflur the owner of Llety Ceiro is most attentive to her guests and is easily contactable if needed. I know we will be definitely looking to book for all of our family again. Thanks so much!

Lovely B & B in a peaceful location. Beautiful room overlooking gardens at the back and the hosts were very welcoming. Room was very pretty and we enjoyed our cooked breakfast the next morning. Couldn't fault the hotel at all, and the hosts were very friendly and answered any questions we had.

My son (Tom) had a wonderful 4 day stay at Sunnymead In January this year whilst on a university placement at the hospital. Jan (the proprietor) provided a warm welcome, a full English Breakfast every morning and ensured that Tom’s stay was wholly enjoyable ?? Sunnymead was First Class in every category and Tom will undoubtedly make a return visit sometime soon ? Many thanks Jan for your care and support ?? Best wishes . . . Tom’s Dad x
