One of the three principal islands of the Maltese archipelago, the island of Malta is the largest of the chain. Its capital Valletta, a lively, bustling city with many buildings dating back to the 16th century, teems with cathedrals, palaces and forts. The impressive Grand Harbour offers a dramatic arrival. The top archaeological attraction is the UNESCO-designated Hypogeum temple ruins, a macabre, 5400-square-foot underground necropolis and the world's only underground prehistoric temple.

We also provide Free Wi-Fi around the entire Hotel so guests can stay connected throughout their stay. The Dolmen Hotel also provides a multi-storey 400-space car park.
Our week at the Dolmen was idyllic. In addition to the constantly warm and sunny weather, the hotel was modern and our 4th floor family room spacious, with a separate bedroom plus en-suite and a balcony overlooking the sea. The choice of 4 pools and 4 restaurants was great. As all-inclusive guests you get €7 a person towards the cost in the grill and carvery restaurants. We spent most of our time “through the tunnel” in the beach section where the bar staff were friendly and the infinity pool was a refreshing way to cool off. With not much time for sightseeing we went for a few hours via Bolt taxis to Valletta, which is a picturesque harbour city. Mdina and Gozo are top recommendations from others. Pros - Cafe Delos food is really good for lunch or dinner with large portions and great pasta, pizzas, burgers etc. - ice cream from the cafe is also really good - breakfast and lunch variety in the buffet was good - decent cocktails, beer and brand spirits on all-inclusive - nice looking modern hotel in a quiet area with great views out across the bay - busy town for restaurants and nightlife a short walk away - plenty of sun beds so no need to get up early to reserve them Cons - lack of choice of simple dinner options in buffet for those more picky with their food (mainly local food rather than catering for other nationalities) - limited amount of fresh fruit and veg - house wine was not good - compared to previous all-inclusives we’ve stayed in the time restrictions for food and drink were odd with nothing before 11am other than at breakfast and no afternoon snacks until 4 - evening entertainment was occasional and very low-key - no pool tables or games room - signing for all drinks became annoying and led to one incident when I was wrongly accused of not signing for some and it was not handled well - avoid the warm patches further out to sea…jellyfish lurk there!

Overall cleanliness of room, pools and restaurant was good. Can’t say the same for the Jacuzzi as it can be cleaner. Rating is low due to consecutive bad experiences with restaurants and pool bars; especially with delayed food & missing food items, serving other tables (with same food item) before us and rude staff handling the provided complaints.

InterContinental Malta has established itself as the Mediterranean's leading hotel of distinction, located in the prime area of St. George's Bay, in St Julian's, just 7 kilometers from Valletta. All 481 bedrooms are elegantly furnished, having all the comforts expected of a luxury property. With a variety of restaurants and bars, the hotel offers varied cuisine at all times of day. The hotel's leisure facilities include three pools, kids club, fitness centre, spa, beach club and room service.
Intercontinental Malta Amazing hotel! We visited the intercontinental for my partners birthday and they did not disappoint at all! We had access to the club lounge and perks of lounge members and were thoroughly impressed. The selection of drinks and food was great, and the service was amazing. A huge shout out to Amit, Phanindra and Bertille for the incredible and memorable service you provided us across our stay. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, well equipped and incredibly luxurious. We enjoy interior design and the spec of the hotel was very impressive and modern. The club lounge staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check out a little later than planned. Don’t be put off by building work as you may read from other reviews. There is building work happening almost everywhere in Malta, it can’t be avoided unfortunately but the intercontinental facilities are private and sound proof meaning you can avoid loud noises better than most other places!

"Beautifully situated overlooking the picturesque sister Islands of Gozo & Comino with its own private sandy beach, ideal for all ages." This very popular, spacious, comfortable and well-run family hotel has a secluded location surrounded by the clear warm water of the Mediterranean making it ideal for a leisurely holiday in the sun. English is widely spoken throughout the hotel by the staff. The Resort is situated in a secluded location surrounded by the clear warm water of the Mediterranean. The standard fittings for all bedrooms are of air-conditioning, television + radio, direct dial telephone, trouser press with iron and ironing board, mini bar (stocked on request), hairdryer, ceiling fan, safe (local charge) and en-suite bathroom. Some bedrooms are large enough to accommodate 4 persons. We also offer rooms with facilities for the physically challenged and the hotel is fully accessible with ramps and lifts to all public areas. A small ferry harbour to Gozo is situated a short distance away from the hotel and a regular public bus service operates to the main towns of Sliema and Valletta stopping at en-route towns and villages.
My room was a bit old but spacious and clean, and it had a very nice view on the ocean. I had booked full board, and was rather disappointed by that. The food selection was large, but everything was of very mediocre quality, and the coffee was not good at all. You could get a decent coffee at their bar (paying extra), and they advertise eating at their a-la-carte restaurant (which cost extra). The tab water in the hotel is non-potable, and they sell drinking water at an overcharged price at their bar and in their small hotel shop. The drinking water tab in the restaurant carries an extra sign forbidding guests filling up water bottles. I found all this upselling rather awkward, and did not expect that in a 4-star-hotel. Also, the gym was closed during my time of visit without prior notice or alternatives.

I went for a long weekend ( Friday 15th April - Wednesday 20th April ) all inclusive. Hotel was very clean. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional too. The restaurant had good opening hours so was never busy. The food choice was massive, the carvery was exceptional. The drinks were good quality. The bar was good & quick service even at busy times. The entertainment was OK. The swimming pools were good if not a bit cold !! ( time of year ) though the one in the basement next to the gym is heated. My room 306 was spotless & had lots of storage. Situated on a back street but easily accessible to all of Malta via the buses which are a 5 minute walk. It had a good mixture of nationalities & age groups. Definitely recommend this Hotel. Lyndon
