The birthplace of both the king of the Olympian gods and of modern European civilization, Crete is a Mediterranean jewel. It’s rich with archaeological and mythological history that’s reflected in its ancient ruins and cultural attractions. Soak up the charming atmosphere of Chania Town’s Old Venetian Harbor or the fortresses and monasteries of Rethymonon. The awesome Minoan ruins of Malia date to 1900 BC, and majestic Mt. Ida is said to be home to the cave where Zeus was born.

The most beautiful hotel, such a big property but so well maintained. Gardens and walkways are beautiful. Plenty of pools, lovely beach. Traditional in style but not at all dated. The food, even in the buffet restaurants is ridiculously good quality with so much variety. Even snacks at the water park are outstanding. Cocktails are good quality and they don’t hold back on the spirits! Loads for kids to do. A short walk takes you to some nice beach bars if you fancy a walk out (one with a small kids area, perfect for us). I just can’t compliment this hotel and how it is run enough! Would love to return one day.

The point of reference though is the unique sense of hospitality and the high standard of service in every guest encounter.
We have just returned from a week here. Cannot fault it. Location perfect - just a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. Everything was immaculately presented at the hotel. Rooms spotlessly clean with toiletries provided. Fully stocked fridge mini bar. Staff friendly. Food excellent - wide choice of restaurants and all of very high standard. The food at the main buffet restaurant was also of high quality with lots of lovely choice. There’s also the bonus of the beach cafe, creperie and snack bar. 3 very clean pools catering for kids, those wishing to relax or for those that preferred music. All pools had a bar serving food. There was evening entertainment every evening and activities in the day if you wanted to join in such as pool Zumba, darts and beach volleyball. The beach is just across the road and there’s a little land train (not related to the hotel) which gives you a 2 hour tour of some of this beautiful island. We’d love to return to the Mitsis Laguna. Highly recommended!

We have had the most amazing week here, the staff are wonderful, our room was amazing and the facilities are next level. The only slight down is the in house entertainment but that doesn’t detract from this idyllic holiday - would come back in a heartbeat! Spa is incredible, service is amazing and we cannot fault our stay - thank you to all the staff for making it so special ??

Went as 2 couples for a sunny break away. Pleasantly suprised with our stay at kiani beach. Food was consistently good. As a family hotel we didn't feel too overwhelmed by the children present. Entertainment for adults as well as children. Great cocktails, worth the VIP upgrade. Near and accessible trips to chania, 25 euro in a taxi. Good days trips to visit some beautiful places. Thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip. Also the 50m pool which was great to do so lane swimming

Stayed in May with family of 8. The resort is fantastic, with great buffet and great al a carte restaurants. There is a water park attached to the hotel which is out of this world, you can spend all day there. Bar staff were brilliant especially the outside bars, were nothing was too much. A bit confusing at first in what bars and eating places you can use if staying at Stella Palace as shared with other Stella hotels. Lovely pools and good amount of sun beds. Highly recommended

Pilot Beach Resort is located on the northwest shoreline of Crete, Greece, in the bay of Almyros neighboring the picturesque fishing village of Georgioupolis, halfway between Chania and Rethymno amongst a scenery of unparalleled beauty, and near settlements that retain the traditional Cretan elements but also villages with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. It offers a unique combination of tradition, hospitality and luxury with the comforts of a state of the art hotel. Pilot Beach Resort with its spacious stylish public areas and unique Cretan architecture is surrounded by olive and avocado trees and is directly on the sandy beach of Georgioupolis offering spectacular views of the Aegean Sea and of the famous White Mountains. Whilst it is considered among the finest five star hotels in Crete and offers services of the highest standards combined with the well known authentic Cretan Hospitality.
Difficult to rate this one. Many people don’t understand the star system for hotels. They are generally awarded for facilities rather than service. Pilot beach is five star in the sense that it has multiple pools( including an indoor one) and beautiful well kept grounds which include tennis courts, football area etc. There also seems to be entertainment in the evening and good facilities for children. Having said all that for me the experience here has been quite average. A couple of days before I arrived I messaged the hotel to ask about a paid upgrade. I would have liked one of their panoramic suites but no one got back to me. When I arrived in the late afternoon no one mentioned my message so I just decided to keep the standard room that I had booked.( probably saving myself a thousand euros in the end). I had also asked for a quiet, second floor room. I got a second floor room near the car park which I didn’t really mind but to be honest I could have done without the sound of the bottle recycling being emptied quite often. The room itself is quite nice with a view over the mountains. There are quite nice toiletries and bathrobes etc. My room has a very basic over a bath shower. No problem I think because I can have a nice relaxing bath. Unfortunately this hasn’t happened as despite messaging and then going to reception to ask I never received a bath plug and so said bath was quite useless. If you don’t want people to use a bath please don’t put them in the rooms and if you don’t want to bring a plug just tell your guests. After the second day of asking I gave up. Air conditioning in room good and bed comfortable. Maid service was good and unobtrusive. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet but to be honest for me the dinners have been quite mediocre. Lots of choice but very standard to hotels in Greece. Staff were nice enough but the whole order in app thing doesn’t really work well as for example I ordered ice coffee on the beach but the part of the app where you put your preferences didn’t seem to work for me so my coffee turned up with no sugar and one day it didn’t turn up at all! I suppose I could say these are all small things but this isn’t a particular cheap hotel so I don’t expect to have to do things like chase after a bath plug or a missing coffee. Would also be nice if a little more of a welcome was given at check it. The lady was polite and efficient but for me it just lacks that little personal touch that I expect in better hotels. So for me with two days to go of my holiday I would say that my experience has been sort of average. I do understand that I am not the usual demographic for this hotel as most of the other people staying here are German families who did all seem to be enjoying it very much. I really wanted to love this one considering it has a lot of very good reviews but maybe I am missing something. One more thing is it is quite a long way from Georgioupolis by foot. You can walk a long the beach but the deep soft sand is hard to walk on and I would suggest that you would have to be quite young and fit to do it in the 15 minutes or so that the hotel suggests. Would I stay again? Probably not but if you are Northern European with a young family this is probably a nice resort for you.

Myself and my now wife booked this hotel for our perfect wedding venue, and we were not disappointed. White Palace helped to throw us the wedding day of our dreams, and we worked closely with both Manos and Anastasia Christodoulaki before the big day. Anastasia was our wedding planner for the final months before we married in late May, and she worked tirelessly in answering all of my questions before we flew to Crete from England, and when we arrived in May. We found her to be so lovely in person also, and she went to great efforts to help us in the days leading up to the wedding, and made sure that we enjoyed the perfect day, together with Manos and the other White Palace staff. Thank you again Anastasia, we are so grateful for you! As a holiday venue, this really is 5 star quality. We had a deluxe double room with sea view and it was spotless, spacious and a perfect base for a comfortable night sleep. The hotel has its own private beach which we enjoyed spending time on most days, and also tried out some of the water sports the beach offers, including tubing and parasailing which I particularly enjoyed! The hote buffet restaurant offered a huge selection of food, all cooked beautifully. The array of restaurants including Tavernaki, Fico D’India, White Restaurant offer cuisine from round the world and again the quality of food and service is just superb. I’m truly struggling to find any faults with this hotel, they really are that good. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Stayed at hotel for 2 weeks. Hotel clean and tidy with beautiful beach and 2 pools, sunbeds available on the beach and pool areas. Meals were good but nothing particularly outstanding, breakfast always a queues for the coffee machine and constantly running out of basic things like spoons and bowls, lunch and dinner very same situation, good mixture of fish , meat and pasta dishes but nothing outstanding. The bedroom room 236 was facing the road ....BIG MISTAKE but no rooms available without paying for a sea view, all day and all night motorbikes blasting up and down the roads , in the morning lorries delivering things blocking the road and very noisy and not much of a mountain view and dogs barking all day and night, hotel should offer rooms without changing for sea views. The village had lots of closed shops and restaurants, has seen better days Room had kettle and fridge which was good. Good holiday but for the price I paid , better options available.

Lovely hotel, best I’ve ever stayed in. We we’re in a group of 13 and we all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The staff at the hotel couldn’t do enough to make our stay special, the bar staff at the beach, pool bar and main bar we’re brilliant, always very friendly. In the main restaurant they always got us tables all together which must of been a challenge with there been 13 of us. Didn’t see much of the cleaners but we always went back to our room been spotless. Friendly entertainments team and three good sized pools. The food was best I’ve experienced in an all inclusive always plenty to choose from, even the most fussy eaters could find something, plus you could always get something to eat from early morning to late at night. The bars also had a good selection of soft drinks, beers, spirts and cocktails. One tip you pay for drinks after 11pm at night. The hotel also has got it’s own private beach and a water park, the hotel is situated on a hill but had a train which took you up to the water park, they also have buggies which you could ring them up and they would pick or drop you off at your room or the beach. Our room was 933 which had stunning views and very modern with a flat screen TV which had a few English channels, you also got free Wi-fi all over the hotel and on the beach area. Thanks to hotel and all it’s staff for making it fantastic week for our family with some great memories.
