Lovely clean hotel with a perfect size pool on the roof for a short stay if you are visiting Barcelona etc so looking for a relax in between travelling. We were in the back of the hotel where the rooms seemed smaller but totally fine for us, especially at the price we paid. Only had breakfast included, which was ok but can't comment on the rest of the food. Roof top pool was lovely and relaxing, limited chairs and beds but didn't have trouble getting one when we needed it at any time of day. Handy locality to the beach and trains to Barcelona or Girona/Figueres. Train noise didn't bother us in the slightest. Would recommend.

Great value for money. Good points : staff are all lovely and friendly :location is good :nice pool area : food very good for this price Things that need a quick look at the tempreture of the water can go from normal to scolding by simply touching the water leaver.it really needs to be sorted The mattress was very rigid The lack of REAL espresso coffee at the breakfast( the bar opens at 9 am and has great espresso) No fridge in the room I was charged 2 euro to use the iron The safe in the room has also to be paid for I still really like this hotel and would go back in future I would love to see the option of a superior room with a better mattress and an espresso machine and fridge for a few euro extra per day

Visited here the first week of June as a family of 7 (2 adults, 5 children aged 5-13) in 2 rooms. I asked prio to arriving if we could have rooms next to each other, which they did. Rooms were nice and modern and kept clean. The hotel itself was clean and modern and nice to look at. For the amount of rooms and guests they have, 2 small lifts is not enough for 9 floors! We waited long times for a lift to go to and from the 5th floor and sometimes ended up having to go up and down the stairs, which gets you out of breathe! On our last day, we waited 20 minutes just to get down to the bottom floor with our suitcases to check out! Food is varied throughout each meal time but is sometimes barely warm, even if you get there just after opening times. My kids were very happy with the selection of cakes, doughnuts and ice creams! The restaurant gets very busy and if you want fresh meat cooked you could be waiting 10+ minutes in a queue where people push in front of you! The snack bar is in with the bar downstairs which I think is wrong as it was causing long queues during the day as they only had 2 staff trying to do drinks and food. In my opinion and experience, snack bar would be better off separated as self selection. The drinks in the bar are good for all inclusive, my boyfriend loved that they had estrella on tap. Me on the other hand, after drinking cocktails for several days, which come from a machine, found out they don't even have alcohol in them and you have to ask for it extra?! Bit crazy to be honest. We were sometimes queuing for drinks 10 minutes, sometimes more. The split level pools outside are abit crazy and way too small for the amount of guests and there's not enough sunbeds. The pirate pool is good fun but gets shady from 4pm which if you're wanting to sunbathe whilst the kids play still is annoying. It is also very slippy on the ship and slides and around the pool. Whilst there a couple of my children fell and grazed their head and knees. The slides are really good fun, my older children spent alot of time of them. If you want a sunbed and a good spot you have to queue in reception from 8.30am. The day time entertainment is OK. The mini disco in the evening is also good, could be a few more English songs. The shows after were enjoyable. There is 2 pool tables, air hockey and a couple arcade machines which get abit boring after a couple of days. We walked to Calella beach one day which is about a 10 minute walk and quite easy to find. It's not pure sand, it's like a mixture of sand and really cut down stones which can be quite uncomfortable. The town was quite dead and run down and not alot open but my kids did enjoy the inflatable park on a Saturday evening. The 'local' Spanish families that go there are very rude and think they own the place. We got down from dinner early one night to get a good spot to watch a show and they just stood all in front of us. When my boyfriend asked them to sit down they went crazy at him and got their partners involved. They did finally back down when we had other families sticking up for us. To conclude it, I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel and I will not recommend it or come back again.

Our bedroom was pretty awful, needing renovation. We complained and we were moved to another one-no better except the wardrobe door wasn't hanging off. The bathroom was disgusting, dirty and old. The shower curtain did not keep the water from spraying everywhere as there were not many curtain rings holding it on. One plastic glass was provided. The bedding was only changed the day before we left (after 11 nights) and the balcony was very grubby. We asked our TUI rep to help us but he did not follow anything up -no help at all. The food was very good, with a great choice and a clean dining room with lovely staff. The bar staff were very pleasant and helpful but for us there were too many children running around with no supervision, even when their entertainment was over and it was supposed to be then for the adults. The entertainment staff worked very hard though. The pool area was not large enough for the amount of guests , with broken sun beds and not enough sun shades if you were lucky enough to manage to get by the pool. We will not be returning.

Just returned from the Miami. We stayed 7 nights. Clean and Bright. Staff are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. Food was ok, what you would expect from a 3 star. My tip, if you want to avoid queuing for Dinner go after 8pm, its much quieter and you will get a seat straight away. Great location for shops and the Beach and also the Station. Trains run all along the coast as far as Barcelona. So if you fancy going further afield its perfect. Its the only Hotel in this resort we've stayed in where you can sleep until gone 8am, it was so peaceful.

My Husband & I had an amazing holiday in Calella. We stayed at this hotel for 1 week. We booked room only, so no experience of the hotel food. The hotel is in a great spot in Calella. It’s across the road from a big supermarket & aprx 5/10 min walk to the main strip where there are loads of shops, cafes, bars & restaurants. It is also a 5/10 min walk to the beach. There is a large costal walk which takes you to lots of other little beaches and greenery. It’s absolutely beautiful. The train station is about a 15 minute walk away. You can book tickets in the station for places like Barcelona. We easily organised a trip to Marineland. The hotel has an excursions folder at the main reception desk. Highly recommend Marineland. It is a huge water park with a dolphin & sea lion show. It is amazing & such a fun day out. Easy transfer there & back too. We bought tickets from the information point which is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. 3 lovely pools at the hotel, 2 at the front & one at the back so you can get sun all day. The hotel is very clean. Our rooms were cleaned everyday. We had fresh bedding and new towels everyday. Tv working ok, although we didn’t watch much tv. Nice little balcony over looking the big pool. Downsides to the hotel were that the rooms walls are paper thin & you can hear everything.. especially in the bathroom! The access panel to the drainage pipes were in our bathroom so you did occasionally get sewage smells into the room which was very unpleasant. Air con is loud & doesn’t work very well. Staff were friendly & helpful. Large bar area downstairs & modern ‘chill out’ room at the back of reception. Entertainment more suited to children & older generation. We absolutely loved Calella. It’s beautiful place & we had an amazing time!

The hotel is totally reformed during 98 and 99 & it is located 400 m. from the beach and 400 m. from the old village, into the tourist area Calella. All the rooms have terrace, fully WC, satellite TV, telephone, air conditioning, heated and safety box. Restaurant areas, reception and bar are fully air conditioned. Buffet service in all the meals, with national and international cuisine. From June to September there is a supper with a fully selection of Mediterranean products
The website Gomundo dot nl put us at hotel Esplai for 4 nights. The day we were checking out the hotel closed down for the season. This also explained the horrible food we had during out stay. Due to the closure the kitchen was closing down and basically serving some tasteless rubbish. Gomundo dot nl sold this all inclusive deal to us as a surprise deal with location unknown. It turned out to be a real surprise. Informed Gomundo dot nl about how bad the hotel was and they did not have the courtesy to even acknowledge the complaint. Beware booking any holiday with www dot gomundo dot nl Antony

The staff are great but a lady from the reception was unbelievable rude during the check-out. This lady put a scissors in my wrist to cut my tin plastic tag without ask for my permission! I could easy remove it by my self. I had no ideia why she was behaving like that and the experience was so bad. The hotel is in a good location but many things are in need to repair. Many visible cracked floors, wall cracking and many electrical problems. The fire exits are very concerning. On our arrival I reported some but I was ignored. About the food it’s sad, I believe in jail is better.
