White Oak Conservation Center is one of the world's premiere wildlife breeding, research, and training facilities. The Center, located along the St. Mary's River in northeast Florida, spans 600 acres and is surrounded by 6,800 acres of pine and hardwood forest and wetlands.
I was sharing my passion for wildlife and conservation with someone and they recommended I go to White Oak Wildlife in Yulee, FL. I called and booked the two hour tour and it was truly amazing. The facility is huge and top notch. We drove around the property in an open air vehicle - there was too much to see in the two hours. We each fed the Giraffes with branches full of leaves. All kinds of roaming animals running all around. Rescued Panthers, Cheetas, Rinos......all happily living in a spacious and beautiful environment. The staff is so caring and knowledgeable. We even paid for the lunch with our guide which was delicious and very enjoyable. If you want to see wildlife close up - in as natural a setting as possible - then go!! White Oak is doing all they can to save these animals and it is a pleasure to see.

After shooting course twice in one day, we will be back this weekend to shoot the 5 stand. Staff and owner are very pleasant and accomodating. Easily laid out to walk , and 4 seat carts are available. Nice club! We were a group of 5 who came down from New Jersey

We love coming to this Welcome Center whenever we cross the state line, going home. Today, a pleasant hostess gave us, and we enjoyed, the free OJ sample: fresh, cold and delicious. We could have had grapefruit juice, but we prefer orange juice. We didn’t need any of the brochures provided, and there were plenty to choose from. We liked the astronaut standing in between the rows of brochures. We also liked the area for picture taking, next to the juice dispensing. Another pleasant woman was giving away bags of information about Florida. Curious, we took one. Inside was an up to date map of FL, a postcard (I love sending postcards), a guide map to FL attractions, a visual guide to seashell collecting, & 3 booklets (Undiscovered Florida, Camp FL, and Visit FL). I’ve lived in FL since 1959, but I’ll enjoy looking through all of these reading materials. Might learn something new! A pack of 5 white generic, soft cotton masks was also inside. Great way to promote safety during a pandemic. Kudos to VisitFlorida.Com! Outside the center are clean, well stocked bathrooms, snack & soda machines, and picnic tables to enjoy a snack and soda. There are plenty of parking spots for cats and trucks.

I was finished eating at the Italian place next door and had wanted to get a sampler here. Unfortunately my two year old was at the end of her patience so I convinced my wife to watch her for a min so I could go get something to go from this brewery. They had me covered. I asked for one of their flagship brews to go asap. The bartender poured me a “Stop Jonsing” IPA in a big can to go. $11 for 32 oz. Had to drive back to Savannah before enjoying, but it was one of the better IPAs I’ve had lately. Would have loved to have stayed and had some more, as they have a bar, TV, I think one of those feeds that shows when you log a beer on Untapped, etc. check it out!
