This is an important environmental area which backs on to the Yarra River. It includes a billabong and wetlands which provide habitat for birds. There is also a formed walking trail which meanders next to the river and through the surrounding bushland. Good for bird watching, bush walking or fishing activities with views to the Christmas Hills and Yarra Ranges. The Reserve also includes a great place to launch Canoes.
The Spadonis Reserve is a series of interconnected waterways. It is an area where native vegetation is being regrown. The waterways are technically known as "ox-bow lakes." They are also known as billabongs. The song Waltzing Matilda "once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong" is derived from these ox-bow lakes.

Yarra Valley Dairy is a wonderful cheese shop on the farm offering tastings of their delicious range of soft cheeses made on site. Cheese platters, local wines and great coffee.
We were so glad we made it here on the dot of their closing time and we were still served really well. Great 4 cheeses on the cheese platter are a must-try for the cheese enthusiast with nice crackers!

Yering Station was established in 1838, long before Victora became a State. It is always immaculately maintained. The restaurant has a reputation for innovation, it's no ordinary wine cellar restaurant. You can have steak or "trust the chef" and have a surprise menu. The wines are excellent, it's worthwhile doing a tasting.

The Croydon Golf Club was established in 1925 at its former Dorset Road site and over the years has earned the reputation of being the premier golf club in the eastern suburbs. Relocated in June 2008 to its Yering Meadows site the new facility presents a stunning 27 hole Ross Watson designed course. A modern clubhouse is nestled in amongst the property with commanding and uninterrupted views of the Yarra Valley. Renowned as a very friendly club, the clubhouse facilities provide the ideal surroundings for the relaxation and enjoyment of members, guests and visitors.
I would just love to recommend the Yering Meadows Golf Club high tea for Mother's Day which catered so well for gluten free. I have never seen such an amazing selection of food. Special thanks to the chefs who catered for our dietary requirements and the presentation and taste was of a high standard. I will be recommending this venue to our family and friends. All staff were friendly and helpful and made our day so special. Thanks once again for the exceptional customer service. From Marnie Ross.
