I would not have expected the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe in the heart of Germany, especially one that was undamaged by the ravages of the second World War, and is a quiet oasis quite near the city center. But Worms has surprised me. Explanatory signs in English are just inside the gates. One doesn't want to spend a lot of time here-the cemetery is just a little too overgrown and wild to be too comfortable, but one should come and pay their respects.

We came upon this memorial to Luther just outside the old city walls. It's quite large and impressive. It has a statue of Luther as well as smaller statues of other Reformation fixtures. It's nice to see if you are in Worms, but not worth a special trip. It has the advantage of being not too far from the Cathedral

Tiergarten Worms is very welcoming; it is situated in a quiet, rural part of Worms. Parking is ample and free and ticket prices are reasonable with discount for persons past retirement age. The Zoo is laid out spaciously; you can have a nice stroll along the different areas. Furthermore, the catering offered in restaurant Blume is priced moderately; no monopolistic rip-off here. What struck me as a positive point in the Worms Zoo is how close you can come sometimes to the animals. I added some pictures to this review for an impression. Several thematic areas can be visited in this Zoo, e.g an aviary with an Australian theme and a area laid out as an European grass land where wolves, deer,(separated of course), wild boars and further grassland animals can be admired. Worms Zoo is the kind of welcoming attraction, where the loving care of the staff for the animals can be felt. A nice half day out; to be recommended.

We went to visit and checked the opening times before leaving arrived to find it was closed because it was Easter - Good Friday. Very good of the Jewish community to close in recognition of other religious festivals

Fantastic guided walking tour of Worms in English. We visit all the highlights of this fascinating city and some secret places too. Group tours a specialty. We offer tours all year round, in all weather. Our tours are a unique mix of historical information, interesting stories, cultural insights and fun. We also do guided walks of nearby Mainz.
Susan provided an excellent, in-depth tour of Worms, Germany. She informed me, my colleague and 16 college students about the history of Worms and the history of religion in Worms. I was impressed as a professor with the depth of information she presented, but I was also impressed with how she captivated the attention of my students. My students all "loved her" because of her excellent knowledge and how she appealed to them in her presentation style. She provided us a tour far beyond what we could have expected. We were all very pleased!!!

This is at least the impression you can get when you visit the "Strandbar"
The staff behind the counter could not be more annoyed by the guest. They interrupted their private conversation only to tell the price for the drinks. As a guest I got the feeling to be an unpleasant annoyance.
The location is very nice and the prices are okay. However, I would not recommend the "Strandbar"

Perhaps if I had been familiar with the Nibelungenlied ahead of time I would have enjoyed the visit more. As it was, the Wagner fan in our group was disappointed and the rest of us were just baffled. There is an audio guide - if you have time to listen to the extra bits they are helpful, but they do interrupt the flow. It is fun to see the inside of the old town wall. My advice is that if you are planning a visit to this museum read up a bit first on the legend!
