Thinking of something different to do with your family or friends? Why not try escape games? Regardless of whether you make it out or not, participating in an Escape Room will have you thinking about the experience for weeks to come. Your team also has the chance to interact and work towards a common goal. The end effect is bringing everyone together, adding trust and enjoying lots of fun and laughter.
We have done a few escape rooms and we thought we’d pop in during a rainy afternoon. Comparing to others we have done, these rooms are absolutely among the best we’ve done. We did the Frankenstein Monster themed room. It was so well set up, with amazing design and fun puzzles to figure out. Also, gave the right amount of hints and we knew if we needed it, we could ask! We loved it so much we came back to do the Casino room, which was again a brilliant room with great creativity and made us feel very submersed in the experience! Highly recommend!

The Plaza is an Independent Cinema based in Workington, Cumbria. Offering the latest blockbusters to the local community.
We work in cinemas and theatres all over the country assisting in the maintenance of seating, I must say this is one of the friendliest places I have had the pleasure to work in , the staff from management to cleaners are all friendly and helpful, prices are very reasonable with a fab choice at the counter and some great deals on food/ drink combinations. Everyone seemed very proud of their cinema and well they should be. I agree, its great to work in places like that.

What a wonderful find! The Helena Thompson`museum was gifted to the town by a lady who was ahead of her times. It contains many local treasures and the man who showed us round was interesting, knowledgeable and passionate about Workington. We had previously visited the ruins of Workington Hall, ancestral home of the Curwen family, which is opposite the museum. So we were interested to find a scale model and many information boards about its building and the family's history. The Luck of Workington, a cup given to the family by Mary Queen of Scots, is displayed well. Every facet of Workington's history is displayed...Percy Kelly the artist, The story of the Steel Works and the Bessemer Converter, costumes, furniture, paintings, ship building, local industries...all most interesting! Our guide brought the house alive and we intend to return in the near future! There is the opportunity to have a hot drink and the museum has a diary of special events which involve afternoon tea. They also cater for weddings and special birthdays.

The historic Carnegie Theatre and Arts Centre is one of Workington's much loved buildings. A regular programme of mainly music and dance events is enjoyed by local people and tourists, and classes and courses are held in the Carnegie Arts Centre every week. Monroe's Bar is also regarded as one of Cumbria's best live music venues.

Small car park approx 1/4 mile from reservoir , members of the fishing association have keys to the gate which allows them to drive on and park at the reservoir. Tranquil atmosphere and great views make for a great walk or fishing .
