Exceptional. The new owners, Hugh and Sarah have heaps of experience and are genuinely nice people too. The fishery is clearly in the early stages of some fantastic development work and talking with the owners, a stocking plan is already underway. I look forward to fishing this place in years to come as the water matures under the expert guidance of Hugh and his family. Clearly mapped swims, evening meals delivered to your peg, beautiful Kent countryside – what more could you ask for? The B&B is up there with some of the best and I will be a ‘frequent flyer’ if life permits. Thanks again team Shirkoak, I look forward to visiting soon!

Woodchurch, a beautiful boutique vineyard producing still and sparkling wines from the garden of England. A family business established in 2009, Woodchurch released its first wines in 2015. They have a range of award winning sparkling and still wines, including a Classic cuvee, Blanc de blancs, Rose and a still Chardonnay. Woodchurch Vineyard is open every weekend throughout the year. Drop in to taste and buy their full range of wines. You can also take a free self-guided tour of the vineyard. Wines are available to buy by the bottle or glass and enjoyed on our terrace or taken away with you. Dogs and children are welcome.
I have visited many wine estates in Cape Town which have some of the best wines in the world. This newly opened wine estate is not yet fully established but the wines are beautiful. Much nicer than the neighbouring Chapel Down wine estate which is much larger and has been around much much longer. It has more of a ‘commercial’ vibe. The manager was so incredibly welcoming, polite and unpretentious in his approach. We had a lovely chat and tasted 5 beautiful wines. I was quite surprised as I’m not too keen on English wines due to their dryness. Needless to say, we walked away with a couple of bottles although we could’ve bought all of them! We will definitely be back when in the area. Looking forward to seeing this boutique wine estate blossom and get more established. Don’t miss this up and coming wine estate. It’s always nice to buy wine from the estate rather than a supermarket.

Love coming here with my 3 year old, there's loads to do - animals to see, a decent soft play area, some great outdoor play areas (including a big assault course type thing in the woods), tractor rides and the restaurant isn't too bad for a snack - was so good I now have a season pass!

Fascinating museum of life in the picturesque Kentish village of Woodchurch, now closed for the winter. We open again on Saturday 8 August 2020 from 10am until 4pm and then at the same times every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday until 31 October 2020. Social distancing measures in place. The museum is one of 48 Wheels of Time heritage sites throughout Kent.

The smock mill was built about 1820 and was in full working order until 1926, surviving the Second World War intact. The Mill was at one time the only windmill in Kent to be listed as an Ancient Monument. Inside the windmill you can explore the rich and ancient history of the mill and see photos of the complete restoration, including the dismantling of the old structure and the rebuild step by step over the years. The Mill is set in a beautiful location, a good start or end to exploring the Kent countryside, close to Tenterden and Ashford with many more attractions near by. A brilliant muse for artists and photographers alike. Donations are always gratefully received to help keep the mill in working order.

I’m sitting here , full to the brim after a fantastic Roast Dinner ! .. So I thought I’d pen a quick review. If you’ve never visited the Six Bells in Woodchurch, do yourselves a favour. It’s a quaint old village pub and they serve very good food , And according to my Husband , the beer is also the best hereabouts ( always good to know as it keeps the Men happy ! ). It’s a bit chilly today but there’s a lovely log fire glowing in the hearth making us feel cosy. I had a huge plate full of Roast Loin of Pork Served with stuffing, apple sauce and with massive crunchy roast potatoes, Parsnips, Cauliflower Cheese, Cabbage , Carrots, Broccoli , Gravy ( extra served separately ) plus of course the obligatory Yorkshire Pudding. My husband had the same with the Vegetarian option instead of meat . All very delicious and highly recommended ????
