The folks in the clubhouse were great and treated us just like they treated their members. The driving range was huge with many targets and they had nice putting and short game areas. I always love a visually appealing course and this one was. The course winds its way between the dunes and heather/gorse with unbelievable views of the beach and ocean. Many of the holes had commemorative plaques memorialize the building and play of the course, including the Mass Hole which is considered sacred land due to the banned religious ceremonies that were held there. You can not avoid the wind on the course but I did not find myself in any of the gaping bunkers (a first for me) that were found throughout the layout. After golf we stayed for dinner and the service was excellent and the Guinness stew was tremendous.

Waterville Heritage Gallery at The Skellig Gift Store provides a great introduction to the wonderful array of local heritage sites and stories, not only in Waterville, but also across the Ring of Kerry and Iveragh Peninsula on Kerry's Wild Atlantic Way. It is a super showcase of the culture and heritage of the South West region of Ireland. The unique outdoor Heritage Gallery is where you will learn about South Kerry heritage, culture, archaeology - stone forts and circles, geology, birds, flora and fauna, and local folklore and mythology. The Gallery also showcases the range of local sea life and farm life of the Skellig Coast region, an outdoor farm machinery display, a history of Kerry's transatlantic cable stations, an introduction to Kerry's International Dark Sky's Reserve, the Skellig Rocks - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the South Kerry Gaeltacht - Uibh Rathach, Bygone days and local heroes both past and present, local and international. There are 150 information panels beautifully displayed on locally sourced Valentia Island Slate and over 300 photo exhibits and archives both in the Gallery and Craft Market. You will also read about the many beautiful places there are to visit and interesting things to see and do while on the Ring of Kerry in the Skellig Coast region. There are two audio visual screens in the adjoining Craft Market. Admission is free and there are several picnic benches in the Gallery for you to relax and take in the magnificent scenery of Waterville and Ballinskelligs Bay. Waterville village is only a five minute walk away too!
Well done to the Skelliggift Store. Took just one day from order to delivery to Co Meath. Delighted with the quality of the aran sweaters I purchased. Have been looking for some Michael Kennedy pottery and delighted to find it there

Located on the world famous Ring of Kerry and perched on the edge of the Wild Atlantic Way, we are proud of the emerging reputation of this part of the Iveragh Peninsula as a place where quality food is grown and produced. Trading since May 2015, the Farm Shop eanbles local entrepreneurs in the food sector to showcase and market their produce to local people and visitors. In this little treasure trove you will find the freshet of local vegetables currently in season, alongside artisan cheese of all descriptions. We also stock local preserves, jams and chutneys as well as tasty and tempting baking from bakers throughout the locality. What would be a nicer treat than some local chocolate (we stock Oileán Chocolate from Valentia, Skellig Chocolate and Lorge from Kenmare) teamed with a freshly brewed coffee .... Cappuchino, Americano, Espresso - the choice is yours! Beidh fáilte croíúil romhat ag an Siopa Feirme!

Our family of four went kayaking on Lough Currane with Sarah. It was a lovely experience right from booking through to the kayaking itself. Sarah is so bubbly and friendly and chilled and makes it all look so easy. We had a double kayak and two singles. The kids (aged 10) wanted the singles so myself and my husband ended up in the double initially but the kids soon tired and took turns in the double and single. They even had a swim which they were delighted with. Highly recommend this company and kayaking experience. Book ahead recommended.
