Widely celebrated as one of the world's leading sculpture parks, Storm King Art Center has welcomed visitors from across the globe for fifty years. It is located only one hour north of New York City, in the lower Hudson Valley, where its pristine 500-acre landscape of fields, hills, and woodlands provides the setting for a collection of more than 100 carefully sited sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.
We actually went to Storm King Art Center on a cloudy/rainy day and it was an enjoyable experience. The ground are so beautiful and the massive sculptures and exhibits defies the imagination. Means of getting around the grounds are provided if walking is difficult. Make sure you spend time in the museum (especially when the sun is not shining). Make it a whole day.

Oldest winery in America.
Smooth wines, even the dry reds were smooth- dessert wines, ciders, everything is great tasting. $7 person for tastings.
Tours available also, as is dining across the Tasting Room in a Cafe- not cheap though.
Unfortunate to learn sugar is added to some of their wines, not a big fan of adding sugar to anything, but overall a nice day trip.
If you are intending to visit NY for shopping, you should start in this outlet. Literally al brands are available (over 200 shops) and the experience is very convenience. Free parking, clean center and convenient stores. We visited this outlet just after Easter and still good bargains were available. There are enough food outlets and the staff is generally friendly. After visiting many outlets across the countries, this is definitely my favorite. Don't forget to download the coupons from the web.

Great overall experience at this 100+ yr old farm. Serving tasty food, try the gazpacho and delicious desserts, try the pies! Ate on the patio where there was a pizza oven and pizza made with local ingredients. Yum!

We went here with friends from France who ride and have motorcycles. My husband and I only have a passing interest in such. However, we were really impressed with the extensive display of so many fantastic motorcycles. Our more experienced friends were totally wowed. There is interesting history here as well. Staff is really nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

The wine tasting itself was lovely. The lady serving us was very sweet, funny, and great as a host. They do serve food here to pick at as well as brunch. The food was good...they have wraps, flat breads, sandwiches and other things to pick at. The wines are all on the sweeter and lighter side for the most part. The bottle itself was priced a little higher than most places in the region....but the tasting itself is definitely worth a stop.

What a nice park, there is a really nice golf course, a dog park, and fishing pond. The Orange County Arboretum is part of this property. There is a play groung for the children and a chalet to enjoy after golf. There is even a sleigh riding, tubing hill to enjoy. A great county park.

The Moodna Viaduct was opened for service in January 1909. The trestle spans 3,200 feet and is 193 feet high at its highest point, making it the highest and longest railroad trestle east of the Mississippi River. The open design of the trestle was used to reduce wind resistance and is a major reason why the trestle is still in service today. If you are into trains and architecture, Moodna is worth checking out. Other train bridges which are impressive are Paulinskill (concrete) in New Jersey, Starucca (stone) and Tunkannock (concrete ) in Pennsylvania.

Museum Village is a living history museum preserving a vast collection of eclectic, 19th century artifacts for educational purposes. Using these artifacts and reproductions, we provide hands-on experiences and exhibits illustrating the transition from a rural to an industrial culture and economy in America, provoking thought and discussion about history. Exhibits include blacksmith shop, weaving, farm life, candle shop, firehouse, school house, log cabin, energy and the environment and a complete mastodon skeleton (only 1 of 3 in the entire world!). Special events include a Gem & Mineral Show, Summer Tours, Ghost Tours, a Civil War re-enactment (Labor Day Weekend), No Scare Halloween, Thanksgiving Tasting & Christmas In The Village. Check out our website for many more events!
The first time I think it would be best to see an informational tour, you can check out your interests afterward. Check for special events. The Civil War reenactment in September is great!
Kids love making and taking candles. My granddaughter thought the chickens were very amusing.

Please note the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is CLOSED on Mondays
We went here a few years ago, we live nearby. It was small but very interesting, they did a very nice job with it. We were looking for an uncle who had gotten a purple heart in WWII. Didn't find his name but were happy we went.
