Ganga Aarti Means Prayer for the River Ganga. The Ganga is holy river in India. It is worshipped as a goddess. Every day Morning and Evening Ganga Aarti is organised by Ganga Sabha at Har Ki Pauri. Morning and evening time for Aarti is according to Sunset and Sunrise. There is no entry fees or charges for the ceremony. A large number of people gather on both side of the river Ganga to experience and take part in this amazing ceremony. Ganga Lahari Mantra is chanted while making offering to Ganga "Panchamrut" anf flowers. Last part of the Ganga Aarti is special Aarti song for river Ganga which pilgrims / visitors can hear through loud speakers. Pandits will be offering Aarti during the song with special copper "Diya". During some festivals and busy season like may june overwhelming crowd gather here specially during the evening ceremony. Place to seat is difficult sometimes. It is best to reach at least one hour before the sunset time if you want to find better place.
Amazing & divine experience of Ganga Aarti in the evening!! Enjoyed more as Hotel Ganga Lehri had organised with local Guruji & we were sitting very near to main aarti place! The Beatles Ashram is also known as ‘Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram’ or ‘84 Kutiya’ or ‘Chaurasi Kutia’. It became popular with Beatles name after the rock band came here for to study meditation in 1968. The ashram is situated on eastern bank of river Ganga, opposite Muni Ki Reti, it is around 1km from the new bridge Janki Setu (or Sita Pul) opened in Nov., 2020 downstream Ram Jhula. If you going by car, park your car in new parking developed on western bank of Ganga at Janki Setu. Then walk from there around 1km. The Ashram was setup in 1960s. During the 1960s and 1970s, as the International Academy of Meditation, it was the training centre for students of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who devised the Transcendental Meditation Technique (TMT). The Ashram was abandoned in 1990 and later taken care by Forest Deptt. It is the part of Rajaji Tiger Reserve. Entry ticket for Indian is INR 150 and for Students is INR 40. Foreigners have to pay a lot. If you are interested in the Beatles or Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji, this place will be worth visiting. Ruins of old buildings, scattered meditation kutias, 84 Kutias building, kitchen, post office, printing press, Meditation Hall, living rooms are there. One can see the graffiti on the walls, still looking alive and takes you to 1960s. View of Ganga from top of the hill is amazing. Some exhibits having photographs about TMT, Yogi ji, The Beatles. Animals and birds are displayed here. A small canteen serving snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks is worth sitting there.

Mussoorie is not what it used to be. It's imitating Shimla by becoming overdeveloped, crowded, noisy, and dirty. Instead go directly up to Landour, have a pancake at Char Dukan, take the lovely walk to Lal Tibba (the place where on a clear day you can see the snowcapped Himalayas in the distance), then walk back to old St. Paul's church, and go into the church to experience real quiet. Then go on a bit further to the restored Victorian villa, Rokeby Manor, go up to the second floor restaurant, and sit out in the covered porch, admire the magnificent trees and see if you can see a fabulous yellow-billed blue magpie, as you sip your chai. This is the way Mussoorie used to be. 8
