I stumbled across this little art shop and clothing store whilst on holiday in Hervey Bay from the UK. The owner and artist Ashleigh was incredibly helpful and framed some pictures for me and carefully wrapped them for my trip back to the UK. I enjoy looking at the picture of the pier in my home a lovely reminder of a wonderful trip to Australia and the lovely Hervey Bay. The pictures are lovely and a bit different from the normal pictures one finds in the likes Hervey Bay. The clothes too, were lovely and a great selection. The couple who run these two shops are delightful and I look forward to adding to my collection of pictures and clothes on my return this year. I highly recommend visiting the shop in Hervey Bay so nice to visit an independent shop.

These gardens are surprisingly large for a smaller town with plants well labelled. Stand out features for us included the small Chinese Garden, the Orchid House, the lake with its resident turtles, and the various trails beside a watercourse and through natural bush. We thought the planting of a tree for when a local resident turns 100 an idea that others could emulate. There is a cafe though it was early in the day when we were there and it was closed - unsure if Covid might be a reason too, as well as a children's playground, a laybrinth, toilets and parking areas onsite (though they might fill up in peak holiday season). A very enjoyable way to spend a peaceful couple of hours.

Beautiful park which has lovely green lawns, kids playground, BBQ’s, tables, seating, toilets and wonderful views. A hidden gem. Could be missed when driving past. Worth a visit. Reef world and the Waterfront Restaurant are located here however we didn’t go there as we had our dog with us.

Beautiful historic pier originally built over 100 years ago to bring supplies to the area and export coal and sugar. Originally much longer it is now 868 metres. Now serves as a spacious promenade or great spot to catch a big thrum or watch the anglers in action.

We enjoyed a visit to Reef World on our recent trip to Hervey Bay. The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. It’s not huge but It was a nice way to spend an hour or so out of the sun. My teens loved feeding the turtles.

The Great Sandy Straits Marina is located in the Urangan boat Harbour at Hervey Bay. We have 176 berths and cater for 8-30m vessels. Our Marina is situated on the doorstep of the whale watch capital in Queensland and is a perfect place to visit as you explore the beautiful sheltered waters of Hervey Bay and the Great Sandy Marine Park. The Great Sandy Straits Marina overlooks the beautiful world heritage listed Fraser Island and is a warm and friendly marina well serviced by buses, with the airport located a short 10 minutes away. Our facilities include toilets, showers, laundry and designated members parking. We also have a hire car available at reasonable rates. We have commercial operators who offer a range of whale watching, fishing and adventure tours. Within the Marina precinct there are restaurants, cafes, a souvenir shop and the Hervey Bay Boat Club is just a five minute walk away. The Break Free Great Sandy Straits Resort and The Mantra Resort both overlook the Marina and harbour precinct. Make this your next port of call.
My husband and I stayed in Great Sandy Straits marina for a week during October 2017. The entry to the Urangun boat harbour is fairly narrow and used by many commercial operators so care is required. The marina has casual berths available, good amenties and easy access to cafes, restaurants and the Hervey Bay boat club. A great place to shelter from strong or northerly winds while in Hervey Bay.
