10 Things to do in Uhlenhorst That You Shouldn't Miss

April 11, 2022 Enedina Augsburger

Second only to Berlin in size and population, the city of Hamburg is home to one of the biggest harbors in Europe. A stroll along its many waterways and canals illustrates why it has been called the "Venice of the North." Don't miss a trip to the local fish market (Fischmarkt), the Merchants District (marked by its imposing red-brick architecture), a fine dining experience along the river or a night out in the university quarter. And did we mention the Reeperbahn (red light district)? It's quite famous for its… red lights.

Islamisches Zentrum Hamburg

It's one of my favorite places in Hamburg. It's so close to the Alster river and in a very nice neighborhood. The blue Imam Ali mosque is has a very nice architecture and peaceful environment. It's a free entrance place while you can pray and also visit some antique stuff inside. Also, there are some occasional events for Muslim believers.

A Wee Free Dram - Whisky Tastings

Hi, I'm Philipp, a big Scotland and whiskey lover, a member of the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society and a whiskey tasting host from Hamburg. During numerous visits to distilleries and whiskey tastings in Scotland, I learned that a whiskey tasting should be one thing above all else: an informative and exciting experience in a communal and relaxed atmosphere.
