Such a great, wonderful adventure. Seeing the coast of Maine from the air is a stunningly beautiful experience. We had a fabulous flight, and our pilot, Cody, was excellent. His knowledge and skill were outstanding. We were in awe of the beauty and nature of this part of Maine. An incredibly rich and worthwhile excursion. We highly recommend this once-in-a-lifetime scenic flight. THANK YOU, Cody, and all of Scenic Flights of Acadia.

Very interesting drive to find this place, lovely natural vegetation along the way and then you arrive. Lovely vintage motor cycles and historic motor vehicles in a lovely location. There is also a history to tell of this area before vehicles were allowed on the island.

Woodlawn is a 180-acre historic estate located a quarter mile from downtown Ellsworth, Maine. Once home to three generations of the Black family, it is now treasured for its historic house museum, its gardens, and its public park. Visitors can explore a superb historic house, stroll through beautiful gardens, play croquet, hike on pristine trails, and much more.
So happy my husband and I went to do the tour of this beautiful, historic home in Ellsworth.
The self-guided tour is perfect! You can take as much time or as little time as you wish! Every room has a main passsage, but there are also many other additional things you can listen to if you wish. We took a very long time - took us an hour and a half, but a couple came as we were about half way through and they finished before us - so it's perfect for everyone.
Such an incredibly interesting family and I had never heard of them. The house is filled with their belongings and their story - it's like if you waited a short time, they might come back and you could have a conversation with them.
The docent who was on duty was so knowledgeable had helpful and she had just moved from California to Maine in April - yet she knew all kinds of cool and interesting tidbits she showed us. For instance, the fire door from the old kitchen to the rest of the house is fabulously interesting and isn't part of the audio tour - I assume so every single person who goes through isn't closing a heavy metal door on the rest of the visitors.
It is a fantastic tour and I'm sure we'll be back. We didn't have time to explore the gardens and trails, but we will definitely check them out another time we're in the area.

We just love mini golf so stopped as soon as we spied this. But the whole set up here looks amazing. There were plenty of youngsters enjoying themselves when we were there. Queues did not seem to be long and it looked like good value....MoreThanks so much for stopping at our park. We are glad you had a good time and appreciate your business.

This was our first stop at Acadia National Park. Nice outside map to get some orientation of the park. Small info center with useful information. Make this your first stop.

I first discovered Acadia World Traders about a dozen years ago, and they are always one of my first stops when I'm in the Acadia region of Maine. Run by a delightful couple--American wife, Balinese husband--the store doesn't just have well-chosen imported jewelry and gifts, and furnishings, from Indonesia. It also features Debra's unique, comfortable, beautiful batik clothes for women. She creates the clothing line AND the batik patterns each year, and in wintertime the couple leave the Maine snows behind, and go to her husband's village in Bali, where the cloth is dyed and the clothing is made by their "extended family" there. The clothes fit all sizes, but a special plus is that they're extremely flattering on plus-sized women. I've brought and sent friends and vacation renters to the store, and everyone has been pleased with their purchases and the friendly ambience. (The date options here aren't flexible: I've been a regular for years, not just a single visit in 2014.)

We drove by several times while visiting the area before we stopped - weeds growing up around it signage fairly old. Once through the door we were greeted by a young lady, shop was full of items. We purchased several jams and some chutney to take back to the campground. Lots of things - items to choose from that you can take home.
