Redrock Adventure Guides specializes in hikes, backpacking, canyoneering, photo tours and base camps in and around Capitol Reef National Park. Our focus is leading individuals and small groups into real wilderness - beautiful, lonely, and pristine - while accommodating any trip to your specific desires, whether it be casual strolls, athletic adventures, natural history education, or instructional clinics. We love sharing real wilderness, not 'leading clients'.
Steve picked us up at our hotel first thing in the morning to head out to an area of the park we would not have discovered on our own. Steve was very knowledgeable about the area and was also very prepared for any unseen circumstances that might occur: first aid kit, satellite phone and other safety equipment. We completed a "slick rock walk about" through beautiful back country... up and over red rock formations, down in sandy washes with plenty of opportunity to rest, rehydrate and enjoy the views, even eating lunch with our backs against a rock face overlooking the wide expanse of the southern Utah landscape. The whole day was magical.

This 122-mile route, located in the southwestern region of the state, passes Bryce Canyon and the Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument.
We traveled from Bryce Canyon National Park to Arches National Park in March 2018. GPS recommended a different route, but locals recommended the Scenic 12 route. It was breath taking. It is slow and curvy but worth every minute. We were saying "WOW" every time we turned a corner. Our 16 year old grand daughter was with us and could not believe her eyes.

Best caravan park I've stayed at in the world. Clean and spotless grounds , handy shop with enough to stop you starving. Freindly staff that keep this place tidier than anything else in town, plus far enough of the road to kill some traffic noise

Took a half day trip, fly fishing for trout on a remote creek. Our guide, Codey, was excellent and managed to teach my wife to cast while directing me to the known hot spots. We both managed to catch several Bonneville cutthroat trout. The trip was enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding countryside and we were fortunate to see wild antelope.
The trip was a resounding success
Thank you

Bob was our guide on the tour and like others here, we thought he was a fantastic guide. His knowledge of the area, geology, history and sense of humour made it an extremely enjoyable day. We ended up returning to Torrey after 6pm, so it was a very full day of extraordinary views. The area is very remote and I can't imagine driving it myself, having no off-road experience (and of course rental car insurance doesn't cover unpaved roads). It's definitely worth taking the tour to see this breathtaking place, especially with such a great guide.

A short hike with geological viewpoints and photo opportunities.
From Panorama Point in the northern area of the Capitol Reef National Park, you can drive a short additional distance over to the Goosenecks Overlook parking area, where there are immediate trailheads to access a view to the creek 550 feet below you.
The Goosenecks are S-curves carved by Sulfur Creek, a tributary of the Fremont River. The view is nothing short of spectacular at the cliff railing to the immediate west of the parking area, but there is more to see if if you take the foot trail to the south, to Sunset Point, from the parking area.
The geology of the surface rock anywhere along the edge of the overlook is extremely interesting. You will see incredible fossilizations. Throughout the day, the sun angle reflects off one distant cliff complex, then another. Bring your camera for some great panoramas.

Visit the Ripple Rock Nature Center, located on the Scenic Drive, just south of the visitor center. Kids can spin wool, pretend to milk a cow, make cornmeal on a prehistoric grinding stone, identify fossils or play with animal puppets.
This is an interactive discovery center in Capitol Reef National Park. The kids can learn about the pioneer lifestyle, the geology, the animals, and even make their own plaster casts of their favorite animal footprints, all for free.

We have traveled to many natural attractions around the world, but our full day tour with Kevin through Cathedral Valley was one of our absolute best experiences. He drove the four of us on the remote unpaved tour of the valley, which requires an experienced driver with a high clearance 4WD vehicle. His enthusiasm for the Capitol Reef area added to the magnificence of this remote area. He even found a perfectly located picnic table and set up our lunch complete with a table cloth while we were admiring the view in the other direction. Our day with Kevin was the highlight of our three week southern Utah trip.

“The Old House at Center and Main” is home to local hand crafters and authors who consign, display, and sell their quality work. There are over two dozen local crafters' and authors' work. Crafters and authors are often in the store for visitors to learn more about their work. Jewelry, wood art, handmade soaps, fabric art, and leather work are featured. The stately house was built in 1900.
I've visited and purchased many unique and quality items from this store. Its so much fun to visit and see the new items. I visit this store every time I visit torrey.
