Have you been to Niawanda Park lately? Wow! Tonawanda City and the Parks Department have done a meritorious job with this linear pathway for walkers, bicyclists, skaters, and moms and dads with baby buggies. It's a friendly atmosphere on Buffalo's best waterway and, with new trees being planted and charge stations enroute, this pathway has a lot to offer. Enjoy!

I had wanted to do this for some time and thought that Canalside Buffalo was the only place; turns out that the same adventure is available along the Canal in North Tonawanda. Last summer I went with a friend and we paid for the hour long ride so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and the sights along the canal. There is definitely work involved but it is great exercise! I would recommend you only go a short distance the first time out, as you still have to get back within the time limit - we went quite a ways down the canal but we really had to push to return, and by the time we got back my legs and "behind" were quite sore. :( You can stand up to pedal but if you have any balance issues this can be tricky. My suggestion would be take a 1/2 hour ride so you know what's involved and where you want to go; next time you can shoot for the full hour if you feel you're up to the challenge.

The history of Mitchell's dates back to the 1940's. James Mitchell purchased the property for the Mitchell family returning home from World War II. The original building was located by what is now the Dunlop Tire Factory. The building was moved to the current location, operated as a Deli before transforming into a Tavern. In the early 1970's, my Great Uncle Peter purchased the Tavern from the Mitchell Family. Peter owned the Tavern up to the late 1980's when my parents purchased the Tavern from him. For over forty-five years and as the third generation, my family has served WNY with the best we have to offer. While glancing through the bar area, it's easy to become lost among the sports memorabilia, selection of beer and spirits! Mitchell's has gained a reputation for quality products, a friendly environment and family-like customer service.
We were so thankful to find a bar in Erie county that still had their patio open with the new COVID regulations. It was such a fun experience to sit out and watch the Bills game. There was a big screen TV and two nice warm heaters, with everyone cheering it felt like the closest thing we will get this year to attending a home game. I had the sports special, 60 cent wings. The garlic parm sauce is delicious!!! We’ve come before and we will definitely be back again.

Our family consists of 4 adults (age 24-41) and two children age 10 & 7. We arrived about a half hour early so that my surprise family event could be revealed, recollection of the Harry Potter movie with the game about catching the snitch could be discussed and the bathroom could be utilized beforehand in addition to the intro from staff and costume selection. We were pleased that everyone could be helpful in finding the clues.
