The Timmins Wake Park is Northern Ontario's first wake park located in the heart of the city at the Gillies Lake Conservation Area on the lake’s southeast corner along Highway 655. This state of the art recreational facility features the revolutionary System 2.0; an electric cable-ski system that pulls the rider across the lake and replaces the need for a motorized boat.

As a result of glacial movement thousands of years ago, twenty self-contained lakes were formed in this park, which now offers various activities for all seasons.
We went to this parc often during our stay in Timmins from 2012 thru to 2019. It is a magnificent serene area. Lots of walking trails wildlife and lots of wild blueberries. We highly recommend for everyone.

We lived in Timmins from 2012 to 2019. Gillies lake is right in town. Great place for a walk along path that goes all way around the lake. The water is clean and good for swimming. Nice quiet place where to relax, meditate at lunch or anytime of the day.

Beautiful park. Didn't stay as the weather wasn't working for us but looked very nice. If in the area again would be a spot to consider camping.

It was a quick stop but we made the most of it! Loved the beer. Made sure to buy some because it is not available in Southern Ontario! Great craft beer for sure!

A fantastic new local craft brewery featuring 4 flagship beers and various delicious seasonals with a full range of flavour from light to IPA to darker beers. Beer can be purchased in cans or growlers to go. Come in for a tasting or a pint.
Back again to my favourite northern craft brewer! Opened since the lock down, all protocols are followed and they still provide a great environment! The beer is still great and they had my favourites, La Grisette and Johnny Jones. I also sampled Polar Night Dry Stout which led me to purchase a few cans (I am not usually a stout fan). Both other beers are very easy drinking, friendly beers that quench your thirst and provide wonderful flavour. I visited August 20th and the gentleman serving us was so helpful and friendly and is worth sitting with to have a pint and a blether! Well worth a visit in Timmins!

The Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre provides heritage and cultural services to the residents of Timmins. It exists to preserve, present and promote the history, arts and culture of Timmins, Northeastern Ontario and Canada.
It was great to learn about the history of Timmins. It was well presented as you walked through the museum with plaques and authentic items from the past. I would recommend going to learn more about the area!

The Hollinger Golf Club is one of Northern Ontario's finest Championship golf courses and is the only 18-hole fully bent grass Championship golf course in the region. The Highlands Course, our Front 9, features elevated views with holes winding through the Canadian shield. The sixth hole is one most players will talk about as it is very unique because of the elevation changes, split fairway and spectacular views. The Lakelands Course, our Back 9, is cut through the lower part of the property where multiple ponds and streams come into play on most holes. The finishing holes, where the course moves back toward the higher ground, are some of the strongest holes on the golf course and feature stunning views of the property as well as wonderful views of the city.

When playing the Spruce Needles Golf Club in Timmins, it is sometimes easy to forget that this gorgeous Northern Ontario golf course lies well within the city limits. So dense is the forest around many of the holes that the golfers are afforded complete privacy, not only from the sites and sounds of the city, but from their golfers as well. The course itself features a championship length challenge in the traditional style. All greens are well protected by bunkers and water is in play about half of the holes. Despite the presence of so many trees, golfers are aided by Spruce Needles' generous landing areas and its large accommodating greens. The superb condition of the fairways and greens testify to maintenance program that is second to none. This hidden gem is enjoyed by golfers of all levels, simply for its beautiful condition and picturesque scenery.A beautiful 18 hole golf course, complete with full practice facility and a complete fine dining experience makes the Spruce Needles Club, northern Ontario's greatest golf experience.
