The Agrirama was purchased by ABAC in 2011 and the name was changed to Georgia Museum of Agriculture & Historic Village.
We stopped here on our way thru Georgia and I must say I was shocked at how impressive it was!! I have been a lot of places and this one is one I will not forget and would love to go back. Our group was here for three hours and unfortunately we were pressed for time, I could have spent 6 hours here. Every building on the grounds had someone who had a very impressive amount of knowledge about that building, its workings in that era. Having someone on hand who knew there particular building made it incredibly exiting for us, it truly brings you back to that time. This is a absolute must se for everyone of all ages!!! I cannot believe how little they charge for all you see!! Thank you to all the people that work there!!

There are so many neat things to do here at Rutlands, and I always enjoy visiting. There are many activities for the kids, petting zoo, playground, ice cream, strawberry picking (when in season). During the fall, they have a corn maze, hay rides, etc. Adults will enjoy looking at all of the goodies inside the store. Large porch with rocking chairs if you just want to enjoy the outdoors. This family run operation always displays kind service, and I enjoy supporting that type of business.

The Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Peanuts was established in 1961 under the Commodities Promotion Act. The Commission conducts programs in the areas of promotion, research and education. Funding is derived from a $2 per ton assessment on all producers. Governing the Commission is a five man elected board of peanut farmers. It is best known in the State House by its little red bags of Georgia Peanuts. Peanuts are a $2.0 billion industry in Georgia
If you have ever wondered where that jar of peanut butter on your table or the peanuts in your Snickers bar came from you can find the answer right here. One visit here and you will come to appreciate the peanut and the contribution the peanut industry makes to feeding America and the world.

This is a planned stop about 3x a year for us. Jellies, jams, preserves, syrups, dressings and nuts. Locally produced & very reasonable prices for what you get. They even have cheesy, touristy gifts and momentos. Definitely worth the extra detour time when passing through Valdosta.
