Went on The distillery tour with some motorcycle rider friends of mine.the tour was very well organized there was a short film that we watched about The distillery and it answered a lot of questions before the tour began. The person giving the tour was the owner. The tasting afterwards lets you taste all of the available spirits they make there. There's a full service bar there as well and gift shop. We really enjoyed our time there, the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. The day we went there they also had a hot dog and sausage Bender outside for food which was fantastic as well I wish I knew the name of that business. But a great time was had by all of us. And I would definitely recommend this and will be coming back.

Deep River's taproom features 12 beers on tap including taproom exclusives. Food Trucks and live music all weekend.
Deep River has many wonderful brews! The Watermelon Lager is a favorite. From time to time they host food trucks and bands. Had a blast July 4th and could see the fireworks in downtown.

We stopped in for a family visit and went for a long hike on trail. It is paved so bikes and walkers can both enjoy. Plenty wide for strollers as well.

The Fainting Goat is a surprising find! This tastefully renovated space brings good beer, music, and a variety of food offerings to the little, but growing, town of Benson. My folks just moved to the area from Vermont and were excited to share this little gem of good beer and good times. They offered approximately 10 different beers with a good variety of styles and flavors. All of the beer were good and we particularly liked the pomegranate wit. The Fainting Goat doesn't serve its own food, but offers different food trucks on the patio on different nights. We were psyched to have BBQ from the Red Neck BBQ Lab truck. It was awesome food and the prices were very reasonable. The FG has ample indoor and outdoor seating and the space is nicely updated and open. A band started playing around 7:30pm and people started to fill up the place. If you want to seek out a little beer, fun and food, take a little trip to Benson and the Fainting Goat

The Ava Gardner Museum, one of North Carolina’s most remarkable attractions, honors the life, loves, and legacy of Ava Gardner, who was born and raised in Johnston County. She became one of Hollywood’s most glamorous leading ladies and visitors to the museum enjoy an introductory film on her life, 16 permanent exhibits from her humble beginnings, her discovery story, a variety of movie posters, movie memorabilia, personal clothing and movie costumes and much more. New exhibits are rotated in the museum on an annual basis to continue to share Ava's incredible story and share with the world "the real Ava", who was down to earth, loving, direct and very approachable for one of Hollywood's most famous stars from the Golden Era. Visit the museum in Historic Downtown Smithfield any time, or make special plans to attend the Ava Gardner Festival held in May each year.
I took my husband’s family visiting from the UK here before some outlet shopping. While the teen boys in the group opted out, they regretted it later as we talked about Ava’s adventurous life, movies, Howard Huges & Frank Sinatra - as well as the very unique paintings of Ava. We appreciated Miss Sarah’s passion for Ava & thought the musuem was well done - jewelry, clothing, movie artifacts, and personal items. We were also fortunate to have a Board member, Melissa, share stories & give us insights. I would like to see more of the items in storage!
