Stopped here on our return trip home from the Maritimes, in this small community of Temiscouata, just 1-2 kms from the Trans-Canada Highway (blue sign on highway for Fromagerie Le Detour clearly marked). Once off the highway, look for the bright yellow & white stand-alone building! Very clean & quaint food boutique; pleasant staff; huge selection of various cheese made & packaged on the premises; various patés, baguettes, ice cream & nice outdoor patio to sit & relax in quiet surroundings. They also have a very interesting selection of food products prepared by various distributors i.e. Mason jars of chutneys, vegetables, relishes & herbes salées (salted herbs perfect for adding to soups, stews, casseroles, etc.). My main purpose for stopping in was to pick up some of their amazing cheese curds which I had purchased here two years … once again, the curds were fresh, tasty & just as amazing! Very easy & quick to access highway at next on-ramp!
