Although the college has a very large campus, it gives a hometown feeling. Known for their football teams over the years, Bulldogs rule everywhere you go. The clock museum in the welcome center was a welcome surprise. Clocks from the 1700 and 1800's were displayed. I loved the frat houses. They rial any southern mansion. Riding down he street past so many was exciting. The architecture and well maintained grounds told me these were no "animal house". The small town of Starkville has many great hotels and restaurants. Our grandson is a graduate student and we feel he made a wise decision to attend this school.

My husband and I were given a personal tour of the small collection open to the public, and had the honor of meeting John F Marszalek, the current president of the U. S. Grant Association and Library. Miss. State University is in the process of enlarging the space to house the library, and they'll be moving from the basement to the 4th floor by the end of Summer, 2017.
Much of the collection has been digitized so it is available online. However, nothing can take the place of seeing the actual books and letters!

Focuses on local and southeastern U.S. Some artifacts from around the world. Nice distraction if it is open. Usually only on weekdays.

I liked the clean easy to follow displays with good information. They had a copy of a book in the day of a farmer that I had from my father.

Great place to gather on a busy game night or during Bulldog Bash. The district is not as large as some of the other bar areas compared to other SEC schools, but honestly, it makes it a lot easier to have fun and be safe. You can walk back to campus easily no matter your current state as well.

My wife and I had a great tour of the small museum which has clocks dating back to the 1700s. Beautiful large and small timepieces are fascinating. The Wades collected the clocks over many years and donated them to the university. Located in the MSU Visitor Center which is connected Barnes & Noble book store and Starbucks, and right next to the football stadium.

I took our church teen group to Get Out Starkville, and every single person had a wonderful time. The staff were great. The room we did was well done. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I look forward to trying out another of the rooms.

Wonderful bar food type selections, the coldest beer and the best atmosphere in Starkville.
The HUGE outdoor balcony area provides multiple TVs for watching sports and also provides for a beautiful sunset view overlooking the historic down town main street area. It can also make for some pretty entertaining people-watching!

This gallery is awesome because it is very eclectic. They have everything from paintings, to sculptures, to fabric exhibits. The exhibits change a few times a semester. There are three galleries run by the Mississippi State University Dept of Art. They are all located on, or within walking distance of campus. A little known fact is that they are family friendly! The Depot gallery features a lactation room for nursing mothers, and the VAC gallery features a playroom for children. The best part is that all of the galleries are free to all visitors! Teachers and administrators can schedule visits through the Mississippi State University Welcome Center. Love, love, love the Mississippi State University Dept of Art galleries!

I come to this restaurant/bar/venue and get a great steak on Sundays, friendly staff and servers and enjoy a great show. The menu is varied enough to please even the pickiest of eaters and I have not had anything that wasn't excellent. I do have to extend special notice to Ryan, the manager. He does above and beyond to make the place welcoming.
