State park known for great bird watching that offers tent-only and RV/tent sites.
Went kayaking with my son. Since it’s winter it was almost deserted.
The views are beautiful passing through different sceneries.
It is only a small section of the river.
During summer people swim, tube and kayak. If you get away from critics it gets to be a beautiful place to go.
Not to many things to do in SA and this is definitely am obligated activity.

Park located on the banks of the Blanco River; great for trout fishing.
My husband and I have been going to Blanco state park for decades. We have made many day trips there from Austin for swimming, picnicking and fishing. This month (February), we took our travel trailer for the first time. Staying overnight at the park certainly had a different feel from just a walk around the campground. We stayed mid-week and the campsites filled. On the day we arrived, the park service dumped 2,000 rainbow trout in the river near the low water crossing. That was interesting. We fished for 2-3 hours and caught only one trout. The US Highway 281 bridge crosses above the park near the ranger station. Traffic has got much heavier over the years but the noise did not bother us much. The lady ranger was not friendly. The Blanco downtown square is less than a mile from the park. The square has some quant shops and several restaurants. We will be back.

Tejas Rodeo Company is a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of Bulverde, Texas, just north of San Antonio. There’s fun for the whole family out at Tejas Rodeo! In addition to a live open pro-rodeo produced every Saturday nine months out of the year, we have a steakhouse with an award winning menu, authentic outdoor food and ice cold drinks, a pavilion and stage for live music, and several horse clinics and special events throughout the year. Like what you see? During non-event days, we can host your event! New to the rodeo scene? Don’t forget we have horse boarding facilities and offer riding lessons as well. As our onsite restaurant, Tejas Steakhouse and Saloon, is gaining recognition, we recommend making reservations to ensure you and your party have a guaranteed great time! Rodeos, followed each weekend by a dance with live music, run from March through November every year- “9 months of rodeo, 3 months of rodeo!”

Eleven miles northeast of Boerne, in the heart of the scenic, rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country, Cave Without a Name is a natural, living cavern. Some say the most beautiful in Texas. The Cave is filled with spectacular formations of Stalactites, Stalagmites, delicate Soda Straws, Cave Drapery, magnificent Flowstones, Rimstone Dams, and more. Enjoy a tour of the six major rooms in comfort; 66 degrees year-round, easy walkways, brilliant lighting. Plan an unforgettable adventure you will remember forever...
We have visited Boerne many times in the past but just learned about this exciting location. It was incredible. We had a great guide and a small group and we walked the entire cave. It has been cared for lovingly and the employees really seem to like their jobs. We understand that they also have concerts inside the cave but we were not able to attend one of the performances. This was a fun adventure and a great day trip.

One of many parks located on the shores of Canyon Lake.
Easy drive to the dam headquarters with picnic area, etc. The restrooms are filthy, so plan to leave the overlook area for facilities.

500 of us came together to celebrate our year together. There was a great band in a large indoor hall. Plenty of outdoor picnic space. The food (ribs, chicken, steak, corn, beans ) were all tasty.
They had two long horn bulls that you took photos with.
They offered hayride tours of the property showing parts of the huge working cattle ranch. It's impressive. If you have the opportunity to visit, do it.

We have everything you might want in a marina right here on Canyon Lake. Offering a ship’s store, restaurant, wet and dry storage, and more! Canyon Lake and Cranes Mill Marinas combine to make sure you are well taken care of.
Rented a 24 foot Pontoon boat from the Marina.. Was a bit concerned after reading some
negative comments. However I was very pleased with their service. Had a great day on the Lake, until we had this glitch.. The boat refused to start. We were at 2 hours into our trip, when it happened. Stopped at the Beer Can rest area for 10 minutes. A great guy in another pontoon towed us back to the Marina. Mechanic was still working on it when we had to leave. We were only charge for one hour plus gas. We were more then happy with that.

This place was a fun way to spend a few hours. The beer selection was good and now they even have whiskey to taste. Great atmosphere with board games and wide variety of beer samplers/pints/half pints or cocktails to choose from. Would definitely check this place out again if I am in the area.

Make the effort and head to Power Park Fitness. Located on a family farm about 35 minutes from San Antonio, this place is incredible. Consists of a 1.75 mile obstacle course and a fitness facility focused on training for American Ninja Warrior. David and his family are incredibly nice and they take impeccable care of the course and facilitates. For our first visit, we chose the guided option led by David himself. He took us through the entire course and each obstacle, showing us proper technique. There is water along the route and safety measures built in in case there is an emergency. We went through the course two additional times. Was a great workout and will work your body in ways you normally don't move. The fitness facility is extremely well kept and they take great care at keeping it clean and sanitized. They offer discounts for military (20%) and students (10%) on their packages. GO!!!!!!!!!!
