We did three of the 7 available rooms at Panic and had the absolute time of our lives! Every room had unique and interesting puzzles that were challenging and fun. The game masters were involved but not over bearing. High levels of creativity went into the development of each space.

Spent a couple of enjoyable hours in the Jon Duerr Forest Preserve on a recent cool day in March. This relatively small forest preserve, located at a sharp bend in the Fox River, provides a variety of recreational opportunities. The paved trail running through the preserve is part of the Riverbend Trail; also adjacent to the preserve is the Fox River Trail. In addition there are unpaved trails traversing the woodlands. There is also access to the Fox River for boating and fishing. I also stopped at the historical memorial site of unknown soldiers of General Scott's Army; the memorial is just a short walk from the Riverbend Trail. Heading south on the Riverbend Bike Trail will lead you to an 8 foot high natural waterfall called Blackhawk Waterfall. Unfortunately, the view is marred by the culvert under the adjacent highway. But the Jon Duerr Forest Preserve is a lovely and great place to spend an afternoon.

The first weekend in August Vasa Park is the home to the fairy festival. There are many vendors with magic wands, wings, costumes, jewelry, psychics, food and other fun and unique items. Of course there are fairies! Some of the fairies participate in the quest they have for the children. In 2019 the quest involved finding the fairies and performing a challenge such as learning a secret fairy handshake, throwing a ball through a magic ring, etc. Each fairy gave the child a different color of the rainbow ribbon that was attached to a ring. The children would end up with rainbow streamers if they completed the quest. Much fun for children and adults as well. I have also attended the Scandinavian Festival at Vasa Park in the past. This is also a very nice festival in a beautiful setting and I would highly recommend it.
