Look for the red roof to spot the Atlas Farm store on Routes 5 & 10 in South Deerfield. Then prepare to be surprised. Outside you will see container-grown flowers, even pumpkins in season, but inside you will find organic local greens, cheeses, root vegetables, ice cream, maple products, tomato sauces, soaps, beverages, and baked goods. The offerings change with the seasons, but one thing remains unchanged--their foods are fresh, local, and packed with nutrients. Have fun!

Take a picnic. Easy drive (or more difficult hike) to top with such an amazing, serene view of river, mountains & countryside. Cover park shelter enables picnicking in all weathers. Observation platform in low building designed with vague Frank LLoyd Wright feel. Must pay to park whether at top or bottom of mountain. CLOSES MID OCTOBER!

The Rock Fossil and Dinosaur Shop is a fun road side attraction for the whole family. Get a bag of mining rough and pan for gemstones in the old-fashioned Mining Sluice. Go on a mining adventure. See the dinosaurs and dig for fossils. After a full day of fun activities, be sure to check out the gift shop. Gems, fossils, minerals, toys and so much more.
We stopped by here when we were out on vacation in Western Mass and our 5 & 8 year old boys had a great time. They enjoyed digging and panning for treasures, discovering dinosaur bones, and learning about and seeing the dinosaur replicas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience for us and our dino loving boys.
