Paddle gently in one of our Old Town canoes or kayaks through shady caverns of foliage. Novice or experienced paddlers will find the flat water Pocomoke River a delight! See the sun-dappled surface glisten as you paddle past fallen logs, clusters of pink or white blossomed water lilies, or the exposed "knees" of the bald cypress. The Pocomoke River corridor is home to the northernmost reaches of the cypress, and provides a selection of various wildlife species that are usually found only in more southern regions.

The 14,753 acres of this scenic park is famous for its loblolly pine and cypress swamps that border along the Pocomoke River, providing visitors with many outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, camping and hiking.
It is a quiet spot of wilderness. We walked along the Canoe carry trail right beside the river. It was so quiet you could hear each leaf as it fell. The winding river, wooded on both sides made it feel like we were in some far away place all by ourselves. And the trees were beautiful.
