It's amazing how you can ignore what's in your own backyard, but covid prompted me to find this outdoor treasure. I started visiting in the spring to ride the approximately 10 miles of trails on my mountain bike. There are 3 loops - yellow, blue, and red. Yellow is the easiest and red is the most technical. There are some sand patches on the trails, but it's pretty minor. This is a great place to ride because the trails are not heavily traveled. There are several parking areas and the trails extend on both sides of the road - I think it's also called Blackbird Forrest road. Just be careful crossing the street as cars tend to travel fairly fast on this road. I am currently visiting to go winter running. I just love running here. It's so peaceful and the yellow trail is safe and wide. I highly recommend visiting this forrest for a stroll, a run, or even a mountain bike ride.

I have been honing here for years but just finally getting a review in. Location is the back of s small industrial park. So if you think you may be in the wrong place you’re actually on track. Beers are solid. 12 on tap with lots of rotation and a few standbys. Music is a stand out. The owners are blues fans and have music on Weekends. A few times a month they host open jam sessions that are really popular. And now what inspired me to write the review ... Blue Earl is now starting food program of their own! With the goal of having “food good enough to stand with the beer” they have set their bar high. And by my first trial the are hitting their mark. I had Earls Hot Wings with Earls Angry Sauce. Very good. They may want to revisit the name tho. Angry sauces are usually hot enough that there is no other taste. These have ALL the taste and some heat that builds as you go. Soy, ginger, and garlic but I had to ask about the heat ... a Korean hot sauce and pepper paste. Toasted sesame seeds clinch the Asian flair. Definitely happy I chose these. Looking forward to working my way thru the rest of the menu.

Depending upon the time of day and time of year you go, birdwatching might be of interest. There is a spacious parking lot, Port-a-potties, fishing pier, etc. On the day I visited, many herring gulls were within the vicinity. This is a nice place to stop and enjoy the quiet and water.
