Museum in Vermont that displays approximately 80,000 items of folk art and similar works.
I would describe this museum as unique and top class. Unfortunately, I did not have nearly enough time to appreciate it all, but our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I really love the old buildings here and the history behind them, and particularly the vision of the museum's founder.
It's a special place.

Converted from the Central Vermont Railway to a bike path in the 1970s, this easy trail crosses through beaches and parks and offers great views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks and the city.
My wife and I cruised this path from Burlington to the ferry. The Ferry was discontinued for the season. There was plenty of variety with views of the lake, riding through quiet neighborhoods and at the ferry landing there views of the distant mountains. There are a number of park benches along the path.

Took a guided tour of the facility, and were rewarded with some really fun design elements. This is really a youthful, fun environment. Naturally, you'll get to see the mechanics of producing the many products, but the surroundings and people who work there make it a great time. Stop at the bar at the end of the tour, and sample a variety of brews. To create memories, take some growlers home to enjoy later.

Mt. Philo State Park has one of the finest views in the state of Vermont. The outlook to the west over the Champlain Valley is seen on many Vermont Tourist Publications. The view takes in the broad, fertile valley with Lake Champlain and the High Peaks of the Adirondacks in the background. There are picnic tables available and it is possible, in the summer season, to drive to the top. It is also possible to climb to the top, though you have to pay for the parking either on the bottom or top. In the off season, it is possible to go in without cost and climb to the top. The road up is excellent as a sledding hill when there is snow. Caution: there have been some limited instances in the past few years of persons breaking into cars where valuables are easily seen.

A nonprofit organization educating for sustainability. Its campus is a 1,400-acre working farm, forest, and National Historic Landmark. Year-round walking trails and programs; seasonal inn, property tours, and children's farmyard (mid-May to mid-October)
Not only is this a gorgeous piece of the Vermont landscape, but a working farm too! Our favorite season is Springtime: the baby animals arrive, and each birth is announced and celebrated from piglets to lambs to chicks. Each season has something special happening: hay rides, festivals, cheese making activities...Very hands-on. Don't miss the march of the chickens--in the spring and summer the chickens are let out side and they March down the ramp from the coop...Hilarious!

If you happen to be in Burlington, you must do Church Street and then come down to the Waterfront parks. There are ample parking locations available and it is a enjoyable walk along the Waterfront. There are also plenty of opportunities to sit on the benches and it just enjoy the scenery and opportunities for the children to get out and play in the grass.
A great location for taking a picnic with the family and enjoy this great venue. Wash rooms available .

Well maintained trails but no markings to tell you your location. We took a picture of the trail map before we entered and that was helpful but it is a little confusing. The trails are nice and shaded. There was a bench along the edge with a nice view where we had lunch.

At sunset, this sleepy little park can become a hive of activity. The view of the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain is lovely -- especially when there is a colorful sunset. Young couples spread blankets on the hillside and spread out to watch the sun slowly slip away. Older folks stay in their cars where the view is still excellent. There are often several people with cameras trying to capture the moment.
Easy to get to driving down Spear Street. Also, close to the bike path (but that is not illuminated, so have lights on your bike if you plan to bike away after sunset).

Walking around the University of Vermont was very pleasant. I was there during the summer, so not too many students. But the buildings were very nice (mostly brick) and everything was kept very clean. This was simply another quaint location in Burlington that fit the rest of the city. Beautiful college town and summer vacation spot.
