10 Things to do in Seodaemun That You Shouldn't Miss

December 30, 2021 Etsuko Causey

Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

Here you can have a drink for about 5.000 or 6.000won and then try on a dress (mostly wedding) or hanbok, priced from 10.000 to 35.000won, for 30mins to 1hour tops, plus have a Polaroid picture for 2.000 or a TripAdvisor review. We enjoyed it very much! The girl is very polite and cute. She helped us try on the dresses and then took many photos of us together. I totally recommend it!

Coming to Korea I was completely ignorant to the history of the country. This trip gives excellent context to the impact the Japanese Occupation had on this country. I’d recommend anyone new to Korea come here.
