James River Brewery is a microbrewery housed in historic, 19th century brick warehouse on Scottsville's main street. Come enjoy our craft beers in our tasting room or in the beer garden alongside Mink Creek. As of March 2015 we have new owners, new brewers, a new brewing system, and new staff.
Always worth a stop here after spending time on the James. I have tried three of their beers now-Sherman Stout, James Bean Porter, and Brown Ale and have found them to be among the best that I have tried. Staff is friendly. Not certain about the previous post about lack of political toleration...I tend to be a conservative, but found several people to chat with about a wide variety of topics-even though I am sure that some held different political views than myself. Glad they have cans to go now which I do not remember from last time.
