My husband and I love stopping at any cool roadside sights and I always check TripAdvisor to find out if there is anything around to explore when we travel. We were driving his mom from Tulsa to Oklahoma City and simply couldn't resist taking Route 66. Our sweet senior was baffled as to why we were not on the highway with the fancy turnpike that would be so much faster and it took her a minute to get used to the idea of taking the scenic route! When we stopped to look at this old bridge she was a little impatient, it is after all, just a bridge. But then she noticed that it is paved with old red brick and she started to really look around and appreciate the lovely scenery too. We took several pictures of the bridge itself, the creek below and what looked like an old marker that could have held a plaque with a description that is gone now. As we were driving back toward the main road she actually spotted an old but still standing outdoor drive-in movie screen. As we looked closely through the overgrown bushes and weeds, we could also see the old ticket booth. It isn't hard to imagine this as a bustling drive-in theater that we remember from the not too distant past! We also took photos of some cool military artillery that was parked behind the local VFW very close by. Take some time to slow down, enjoy and explore. You may be pleasantly surprised!

We are a museum located on the historic Route 66 highway in Sapulpa Oklahoma. Our collections focus on vintage cars, Route 66 memorabilia, and local military history.
Small Museum but worth the stop. We were taking Route 66 between Tulsa and Oklahoma City. There were some very interesting cars, worth seeing. If you are on Route 66 be sure to stop the museum director was very friendly and informative.
